Title: where to tune?
Post by: Furb on March 08, 2009, 07:22:52 PM
hi guys,

i am finishing up my new setup for my Fc and need to get it tuned.

i formerly ran on stock ecu which was remapped here in Holland, but the rotary guru no longer works there so this was kind of a dead end for me...

i have now bought a PowerFC with the banzai racing adapter kit and i was thinking on coming over to the UK for tuning.
couple of tuners come to mind, here they are in order from closest to far away ragarding the distance from the Eurotunnel.

- ReWorx
- RX Motors
- Dragon
- WGT

i know all of these tuners have proved to be capable of tuning a rotary engine, and maybe sometimes they screw up, sh*t happens!
but i dont want any stories of things you have heard from other people...

i want to know, how are your personal experiences to these companies regarding the service, costs, knowlegde, experience, results and care for your car?

i will be contacting all of them for info, but i want some more background info from you guys.

grtz Furb

trouble is different people will recommend different tuners, its best to give them a call and see which one can offer you the best price and from first impressions you would be happiest taking your car.  All those 4 you have mentioned are some of the top rotary tuners in the country.

I have had quite a bit done at RX Motors inclusing a revuild and the quality of the work is very good, can sometimes be quite slow getting the work done depending on what you want to have done and how busy they are at the time.

i know, this is always a difficult question, as most people stick to one tuner so they can\'t compare them to others from experience.

i only want the best for my FC, so that\'s why those 4 came up.
not only service and costs will be a point but also the distance, as it is already 350km to calais and then with the train to UK...

Don\'t think you can go wrong if you use any of those tuners. Who is closest to the ferry dock ?

Reworx in Portsmouth are the nearest to the Eurotunnel.
My personal experiance is they are very good, have their own dyno and have lots of experiance with FCs

Furb, if REworx would be your tuenr of choice, and they are in Portmouth, you better take a ferry to Southampton and you\'ll be near Portsmouth.

You could either get on the ferry in Oostende or Zeebrugge, maybe even in Holland..

may be a good option, but also depends on the costs...

through the tunnel it is 530km from here to portsmouth and the train is 60 euros for a 2 day trip.
but from what i could find, there is only a ferry from Le Havre to portsmouth, which is about 500km and the ferry costs more then the train.

Hy Furb,

Check with Reggy(Musclefella) on the Dutch forum, He wants to bring Pip over sometime soon.

I\'ll be on that as well for my FD.

depends on how long your trip is. but those prices dont make any sence...

when i go to santapod, i take the train on saturday morning and go back sunday evening, then it is 60 euros.
when i would go on friday evening and back on sunday evening, i would pay 150 euro
