Title: quick when filling coolant question...
Post by: Jim_rx7 on March 07, 2009, 06:27:13 PM
When filling the coolant how high should you fill it on the filler neck?

I\'m sure I read somewhere that you can overfill which results in it sucking more into the expansion bottle than it should?

I filled to the very top went fir a drive, next day I needed to fill again.

I\'m not burning any coolant and I have no leaks as far as I can see. Could there simply be air in the system as I\'ve only really driven it 2 times properly since the engine went in.

It\'s a self leveling system so it don\'t matter how much you put in. After a rebuild it might take 2 or 3 attempts to get all the air out the system hence the need to top it up. It will find it\'s own level anyway so don\'t worry about it
