Title: engine temp - what\'s the norm?
Post by: Jim_rx7 on March 07, 2009, 06:12:09 PM
Well at the moment for whatever reason the dash water temp gauge isn\'t working. Not too bothered as I\'m using the pfc to monitor temps.

My question is, what\'s normal and what\'s too high?

Went for an 80 mile drive today and it sat at a steady 83 degrees c.

80 - 85 is the norm for plodding along, you are OK up to 95, but anything over that you should consider hitting the magical AC button as it kicks in the 2 fans on Max warp! over 120 and your in to rebuild teritory!

Mine sits at 84. Sure feels good to drive the car after rebuilding doesn\'t it jim?

It does mate. Took it for it\'s first proper 80mile drive today.

No problems. :)
