My Series 1 Mazda, in Maya gold, with colour co-ordinated wheel trims and TWR racing bodykit. Stolen from Coronation Road in Bristol.
Reg: KAR 390Y
Please, anyone in the Bristol area (or anywhere else for that matter) who sees this car, please call Bristol police on 0845 456 7000. Crime ref is: 27491/09.
I know there are a few first gens in Bristol, and a few third gens too, so if anybody does see it, please do call the police. It will be the only Series 1 in Maya Gold with a TWR racing bodykit in Bristol, and they probably STILL won\'t find it.
Any assistance gratefully received as I am truly hacked off.
Many thanks, Mary
You should let Dep-o magazine know as they have a stolen section, I think Retro rides do as well?

Can you give any details about the interior colour, milage etc, mods etc? That way if it turns up for sale somewhere the details might give it away.
Really sorry to hear about this :(
Sorry to hear about your car, im not in Bristol but have quite a few friends down there, so if you upload a picture I can pass it around !
Holy moley.
That is awful. Is there any other FB\'s local to you ??
Shaun
Really sorry to hear this Mary :(

Seriously Very Sorry to hear this Mary. Do you want to put the VIN up on this Forum in case it appears in a breakers or e bay. Is that a good thing?
This car was on the MRC calendar 2009? Very small in a collage though?
All eyes peeled up here and on e bay.
Also posted now on the Ex....le site and also on the Irish Rotary Club Site
On retrocarclub too
Sorry to hear that if anyone offers me any parts that sound like yours I will get in touch.
Hi guys, sorry for the delay in replying, I wanted to check with the insurers whether I should put up the VIN number. They said not, as car can then be cloned. All greek to me, but nonetheless.
I am trying to find any photos, but had not taken any myself (had kept meaning to). It was down at Tim\'s for a while waiting on an engine, so he knows what it looks like too and I know he\'s keeping an eye out.
TWR racing bodykit -nice spoiler, low and not naff looking, but with a gap, not like the solid rubber spoilers. Back bumper end was shaped underneath the car and front end had lowered bumper, but not over low. sides had \'side step\' trim which looked like the ones I saw on an Elford which was for sale on ebay recently. The whole thing, including the wheel trims was Maya gold, bodykit, everything. It had a solid sunroof, again gold, not clear. Registration is very distinctive - KAR 390Y. All my friends used to spot it in Bristol and say they had seen it. I\'ll eat my hat if there is another one like it - I\'ve seen a couple of Maya golds on ebay, but not with the bodykit or the colour coded wheel trims. As mentioned before, please keep your eyes out. My chances of coming up with another car the same are nil I would imagine. :(
Does anyone have a scan of the photo of it on the calendar? Or Clive, if you read this, could you send me a copy of the photo? Any help would be much appreciated,
Sorry, also should have said, standard otherwise. Original radio cassette, replacement standard 12A engine put in (whether Tim would have a number for it, I\'ll have to find out). Not souped up at all, but everything worked (even the electric aeriel).
I will PM Ann who does the calendar photos and Clive in case they have anything.
Is this it?
Yes Brett! Are there any more, side on or anything? Gutted just looking at the photo.....
:( :( :(
It\'s one I had saved from one of the Rotorstock 4 threads - I\'ll look to see if I can find any others... :(
Clive hasn\'t got anything but Ann might have other pictures.
Are one of the mods able to change the title on here to say "with attached picture" or something, so people will know what it looks like? Many thanks,
Mary

I\'ve had a look amd the only one I can find is the one Brett has posted above which I used in the 2009 calendar but it\'s not one of my photos.
Let me see if i can find where I got it from...
Edit: Yep found the source they were from this thread (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41615) there\'s a couple more there but all front views I\'m afraid.
thanks guys, at least I have a couple of photos. I will try to contact the previous owner too to see if he has any others. A lesson learnt for me too - don\'t put off \'til tomorrow, etc. I kept meaning to take photos on my phone.
Car looks really good in above photos too. Feel gutted again. :(
I can\'t believe, with a car that "sticks out like a sore thumb" as some of my unsympathetic, non-car/mazda enthusiast friends put it, that SOMEONE hasn\'t seen it.
Thanks anyway for posting on other sites and understanding! :(
Hi - I\'ve just realised that this car was parked next to me at Rotorstock 3 (top right photo on the home page). I\'ve got a couple of photos I\'ll post up late but again they are front views.
Many thanks Ann. I\'ve used the photo already for work on our messageboard, although I suspect the car is long out of Bristol if it has been stolen to order or something. if you do have any more, I\'d be most grateful. Many thanks again..
Any news on this?
Hi Guys
I called the police yesterday again, still nothing. Then got a call at work today from a very nice PC who said they have caught the little **** who nicked my car. He is apparently homeless, has not a bean and has as string of offences he wants taken into account at the same time. HE STEALS CARS FOR SCRAP METAL and tells the PC that it has been scrapped. The PC believes him, because he has quite a good "working relationship" with this particular guy and he has admitted it. There is a scrapyard that is being looked into.
I pointed out to the PC that the stupid kid would have got more for the TWR bodykit on ebay or privately than ever for scrap, but he said this kiddy doesn\'t care. They thought this particular crime would be down to him, because he is known for nicking performance cards, Scoobies, Mitsubish Evos, etc for SCRAP!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM. No offence to Mondeo, etc owners, but why doesn\'t he nick those? They weigh as much and are common as muck. Can only presume he likes to go for a burn in them first or something.
I am pretty gobsmacked as this is outside my experience. The PC said this kiddy is likely to go down for quite a few years. The PC sympathised as he has a classic car himself, but said this kiddy just doesn\'t care.
He said we will know more next week, but he thinks it very likely that kiddy is telling the truth and it has been scrapped. What a ********* waste.
Thats terrible :(
Its possible its not been broken/scrapped yet though?
I\'m really sorry to hear that this type of person is known to the police, they have a "working relationship" with them. What the bloomin hell is that ! They should have banged him up before they could get that close. Surely if that was a plan you would nick the heaviest cars like landrovers. The FB is no weight at all !!!
Hopefully it will still be sat in the yard awaiting action. Such a rare car is a complete disgrace especially when the price of steel has fallen through the floor.
I\'ve just bought a TWR kit off ebay off a guy call mark. Its off a blue car with the original fitting invoice for the kit and 12a turbo. Was over £3k in 1984 !
I\'m not completely sure I actually want to use it. If you decide that you want to recreate a similar FB with a TWR kit you can have it for what I paid for it, £46 but you would have to come and pick it up.
Shaun
^- You are a gent! :god
That is crap, go down for a few years, go down on who??? The fact is that we have more chances of getting jail time for speeding :driving on a clear motorway than the criminal has.
You are a gent by offering him the kit. :god
Where was i when that went on sale. :wiggle
Cheers,
AR
Sorry to hear about this, if its a known criminal should they not be on curfew or something ? or tagged ?
Very Sorry indeed to hear this Mary.
Went for a trip to our local \'town\' yesterday. The place is teeming with scrotes like the one you\'re talking about. The police think they\'re doing well by just containing the problem (they probably are) - but the blasted new labour politicians round here say that \'statistics show that crime is falling\'. I could easily be a crime stat myself, just give me one of our politicians and a dark night!!
Hi Shaun
I\'ve only just seen your post - that is SO kind of you. I think for now though, I just won\'t be able to go into that sort of project again financially and it would seem selfish to take you up on your kind offer if I can\'t use the kit now. I had all the paperwork for mine and had the original TWR receipt for the kit on mine too, plus every tax disc that\'s ever been on it, the original letter from Mazda to the lady who bought it at first reg, a commemoratory Atlas with RX7 embossed in gold on the front (without the M25 on it, which I always thought was so weird!!!) and loads of original Mazda garage receipts. Pretty well every MOT it had had too. I did love that car, and Tim had just put a replacement engine in, in December last year.
Its very kind of you to offer though - I really appreciate that. I wish I had just stored mine in a garage now, until they become REALLY rare, but then I did LOVE to drive it.
Thanks again guys. None of my friends understand!!!
Cheers, Mary
