Let me know what ya think
looks like a well sorted car. Not the worlds biggest fan of the kit, but its a bit marmite
nice purchase!
Blimey - what are your expectations then? Cos that is going to be quite keen.... *grin*
Should get a good deal on that as its been up for sale for ages, its going to give you
a rather large grin!
To be honest i\'n not to keen on the kit either but it can be changed like most things.
Yeah i\'m hoping it puts a smile on my face!!
"side ported engine" - ???
Should be fairly brisk at any rate :)

X2!!!
I had 3 Subaru\'s before i entered the world of Rotaries...
The first 2 were standardish and i was blown away with the performance!!
T51R turbo is gonna scare the shi!t out of you... :burnout
So you\'d recommend the change then?
My scooby is running about 340bhp at the min so pretty quick but no where near as quick as i think the rx7 will be :Giggle
Has it been mapped to UK fuel? Probably best to turn the boost right down to start with or take a spare pair of pants with you!!
Yes mate, all running sweet as a nut! i\'ll just take a spare pair of pants:burnout
Like above... it will put a smile on your face.... & if you boot it the smile will be on the back of your face ;) seriously, the power in your scoob would probably equate to a well sorted twin turbo set up running around the 300bhp as you haven\'t got to send the power to the wrong wheels!! so with that set up it\'s going to be like hitting the hyper space button!!
Corrct me if I\'m wrong, but isn\'t Blitzboy running this turbo on his drag car??
Jono
You can get a lot of power out of that turbo :burnout
On my old turbo I would walk my mates 385hp Scooby with only 350hp in my Rex in rolling and from standstill :wiggle

With video evidence of course :Giggle
By the sounds of it they put the power down well then?
Quote from: Godden87;588849By the sounds of it they put the power down well then?
Yup with the right tires they do... you will .... over scoobys if you go a bar or over from a rolling start... if you are greedy crank the boost up get ready for the wings to open up because you will be flying
Yeah putting down the power is all about tyres :)
Another item that might be worth getting if you are going to be launching the car is a diff brace as it helps eliminate wheel hop (not good on drivetrain)

I think he has one "Feed LM Edition engine to diff brace"
Its already got an engine to diff brace on it, would that not help? Or would it need a seperate brace for the diff?
Quote from: Brett;588820"side ported engine" - ???

We call that a street port.
Thought it was meant to say street port as i\'ve not heard of a side port!!
LMAO - I\'d call a side port a renisis... anyway I digress.
How much are they stinging you for insurance then?
To be honest its not that bad, alot better than i thought!!
To insure the RX7 + My work car its costing me 1483 fully comp and all declared which i was pleased with to be honest
Side port.... could it be a peripheral port....??? *rubs thighs*
a side port is any port that isn\'t peripheral imo.
No it\'s a street port.
Port-side processing (as they call it)
You\'ll find サイドポート加工 next to most engine specs if buying a modified RX7 from japan.
The car I got from Odula has a FEED build side port engine.
congrats and welcome
only thing id change would be the front bumper but everyone has different taste so fair play
love it in white!
Quote from: Godden87;588871Its already got an engine to diff brace on it, would that not help? Or would it need a seperate brace for the diff?
Engine brace is good but you can also get a brace for the diff which attaches to the body, I think that will help more with wheel hop
I wanted a white RX7, think its the best colour to be honest and for some reason always wanted a white car, even though it\'ll be a pain to keep clean just think they look smart when there all polished up!
Yeah i\'ll have to look into that, don\'t really wanna be breaking anything
nice car like everyone is saying a diff brace is a must for launching.with that turbo you will have great fun trust me:Giggle:Giggle
Yeah i\'m hoping so as its my 1st RX7 as was a bit touch and go as to whether or not to sell the scooby as had it 2years, spent a fair bit on and love driving it but i\'m sure these are the same
Once you have owned a good one you will never be the same again!! there are so many people who sell up, then 3 months later you see posts "I want another rex!" they are like a drug..... I know I won\'t be with out one after owning mine for 4 yrs!
Jono
You deffo got the best colour mate, white cars are all the rage atm and nothing looks sweeter than a white fd3s,
I should know :-)
Yeah def think that white cars are the way forward, especially jap cars! Just something about them that makes em stand out more than most cars
Nice, wheels are horrible though. But I can do you a fvour and buy them off you ;)
Yeah white is nice but for me nothing is more appealing than a vibrant red FD. I\'ve had mine for 17 years, she\'s in being painted, vibrant red. Engine bay everything. Should look terrific when done.
Dude thats going to be an absolute animal.
My Fd is pretty much standard, running 281bhp at the wheels, and its quicker than my mates 350bhp Type R impreza from a rolling 30mph start.
That thing is going to be a real handful, be careful if your not used to RWD cars.
Good luck, and enjoy. You wont regret it (Used to have a Type RA impreza myself..the rx7 is oodles more fun.)
i had a scooby before i got the rex, the rex is a whole new driving experience lol dont get me wrong the scooby was nice but just wasnt really as fun as i was hoping, got the rex and its everything i wanted
Godden87 did you buy this car ?
welcome to the club!
great looking car and nice spec
Awesome turbo mate, likes to whistle all the time...
Your gonna love her my friend, different world of car, set to be a hands down win win sitiuation..... except rebuild time. Let us know how she is!
You dont need a diff brace. Solid diff mounts do the same thing and you will find most people who run an aftermarket diff use the solid mounts when they change it over
Solid diff mounts do not do the same thing as a diff brace.
Also solid diff mounts are not a great idea without solid engine mounts too.
Oh right so Re:Worx are wrong then. Good job I have solid engine mounts too
T51R Turbo on a Street Port eh? That\'s got to be good for about 400 bhp or so! When you hit boost for the first time you probably will need new pants as by reputation those Turbos give a lot of wallop!
I believe in terms of outright speed the technical term is that will f*cking shift!
Well its meant to be about 600bhp so will be more than a lot of wallop! So yeah it should be very very quick
Can\'t wait to get it as had a few problems my end so just waiting now
have you seen this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/738910.htm not as far from you and it looks a good one.
Yes mate i have seen that one but i\'m doing a deal with this other p/x with my Subaru, thanks anyway dude
600bhp on street port.....what boost is that running? That has to be round 1.6bar or so
Blitz on here is running half bridge with T51r with 1.2 bar on Motec ecu and getting 555bhp
I see from the spec list you arent running water injection though
Did the owner provide you with a dyno sheet?
i haven\'t picked the car up yet mate, just going on the info that i have been told from the bloke selling it and i\'m guessin he\'s going on what he\'s been told by some one else if that makes sense ha ha!
I think its running 1.2bar but not really too sure
Is it good thing to have a water injection then?
I think you\'ll be disappointed with bhp figures for your car mate if you are expecting 600 BHP.
To be honest not expecting 600bhp mate
I\'m new to rotaries so don\'t really know alot about them
I think we can safely say that it\'s gonna make your scooby seem pretty slow though! Good times :driving:)
Yeah i know that much ha ha!
Still looking forward to getting it even though its not gonna be 600bhp as i have it 2years now and want a change so thought why not a rotary
Yeah water is a very good idea. I know most tuners advise on water as a safety devise for anything over 1.2 bar just to be safe.
There are some very cheap kits out there that will help and also bring down inlet temps when on boost
Quote from: Godden87;591835Yeah i know that much ha ha!

here you go m8 http://www.youtube.com/chrishughpenis a few videos of your car ,some user name that guy has :rollin:rollin
