I\'m rebuilding a 20B for use in an aircraft. I have gathered a lot of information to get started ..... enough to know that the disassembly procedure is a little different etc.
I have a video that walks throught the process of rebuilding a 13B and I have found a description online of the disassembly of the procedure but I would really feel a lot better about starting this with the proper manual.
All I have found so far has been the 2 rotor variety. Anyone know a source for some 20B related manuals?
If you get a cosmo service manual, im pretty sure it has rebuild info for the 3 rotor in there. (The cosmo is the car Mazda installed the 3 rotor into)
Im pretty sure you will be fine with just some 2 rotor rebuild info...its all pretty much the same. The torque settings are the only real anomaly, but Im sure if you ask a couple specialists, they will be happy to give you a hand.

Yep, the Cosmo manual is what I\'m looking for. They were never imported into the US and therein lies the issue of finding the manual. I figure an Aussie source would get it done.
What kind of aircraft is it being installed in BTW?
It\'s going in a Rutan design Long-EZ.
It is a two place composite plans built aircraft.
Expected top speed will be just shy of 300 mph.
I dont think that the cosmo general service manual has any info regarding the engine rebuild ( I have an scanned copy). IIRC they didn\'t trust the dealers to do the job so any engines got sent back to Mazda. I think there may be another manual dedicated to the 20b, try the eunos members website (aus site) as they will probably be able to help.

I know you can get rebuild videos of 13B, 20B and 26Bs so check out some of the suppliers :)

Ithe Video for the 13B from Bruce Turrentine. It\'s excellent stuff. I checked with the local Mazda dealer to see if he could get me a copy of the manual direct from Mazda. No luck so far.
I also tried MazdaTrix.com with the same results.
If you happen apon a 20B video or reference, please pass it on. I also have someone in Melborne looking for me which seems to be the best bet right now.
There are some rebuild videos on here:

Hmm they say the 20B and 26B rebuild is coming soon :(
Rotaryart sell the DVDs for the 13b, seems that the 20B and 26B DVDs havn\'t been made yet :(

:Laugh May of \'06. I\'ll contact them just the same.
Thanks for the links. Everything helps.
Just to follow on from this thread (sorry to bump) I have had these DVDs nearly 2 years and when I got them I registered to get the wall chart with the part numbers and settings/clearances that was made available. I never heard back though and actually just re-registered on the site a few weeks back.
The last update on the diy-re site was a few years back now, the guy Lance in the videos 3 rotor site has not had an update in a few years and even his myspace (no im not a stalker lol) has not had any activity in a good few years??
Does anyone know if something happened to him, or to the diy-re company?
also, does anyone have the wallchart they would mind scanning/copying? Since I\'m now in rebuild land myself! Don\'t mind throwing a few beer tokens in for a decent scan of that chart!!
Sorry for the hijack
I registered when I got my copy but never heard anything back either, no wall chart :(

+1 would be a really nice to get one
Last updates on anything I can see was a few years ago, and by the clips and screenshots it looks like they did start filming the other videos. I have emailed a good few times with no response. Be a shame if they are not making the videos any more and (maybe) the company isnt in business any more. From the 3 rotor site he put a lot of money into building the engine room, editing suite and converting the garage for the whole thing!

Me too!
Didnt think the dvd was that much cop, thought Bruce Turrentine\'s had much more usefull info in it!
yeah, its a really bad amateur video, just focuses on their face rather than the parts.
They talk like they have no idea how it goes together lol...they really needed to edit more...and sack the cameraman.
The RA video, like Ricco says, is the one to buy if you had to get a rebuild dvd.
