Still getting used to this posting picture malarky! This is a picture of my modified veilside d1 front bumper with front mount. The scoop is quite small, and as you can see only covers half of the intercooler. Would it be possible to go v-mount instead?
With FMIC the intercooler sits infront of the bumper support so a nice big opening in the bumper is needed. with a v mount it sits in the engine bay so bumper design isnt as important. fab up some ducting with sheet metal for added cooling.
Sounds good but don`t really wanna start bodging the scoop. Can i have it so the ic is tilted so the airflow hits the whole surface area?
You can do what ever you want. Depends how much fab you want to do. The main problem with FMIC is restricted airflow to the radiator. Heat is the biggest killer of rotary engines. With the VMount you wont have to cut up the bumper scoop.
V-mount it is then. How and where do i mount the rad, it is slightly bigger than the ic. My dad can fabricate if need be, just wanna know where everthing goes. Time to look at pictures of ic and rads then. Starting to p**s me off this is.
In my old FD the intercooler sat like this:

And the radiator and ac rad sat at an angle (opposit to stock position) for maximum cooling to both rad and intercooler.
