Title: Top rear brake light replacement
Post by: Gatesy on February 28, 2009, 10:12:20 AM
Guys I\'ve searched on here but not come up with any results.  One of the little brake lights at the top of the boot has gone and needs replacing.  What do I need to replace it with?  Bulb or LED?

Should just be a bulb. I think you have to remove one if not both of the side light clusters to be able to get the centre section off. The you\'ll see the 3 bulb holders on its back

Pretty sure they\'re just a standard capless 501 sidelight style bulb like these;

Like Adam says, take off the two main rear light clusters and then it\'s easy enough to undo the four (I think) nuts that hold the center brakelight unit on. They\'re hidden by a black placcy trim that just clips out

Cheers for the info guys.  This is the least of my worries with the way my FD is turning into a swimming pool at the moment so it\'ll have to stay broke for the time being but at least I can get the bulbs so I can have a go one sunny saturday when the missus is in work.
