Hey,
Im looking at a set of new wheels, they are 9" wide on the front with +41 offset, and 10" wide at the rear with +45 offset.
Will these fit with no arch modifications needed? I have Tein coilovers and have the rear on its lowest setting, i`d like to keep it that way.
Also, the tyres on the rear will be 255/40`s..if that makes a difference. With 225/35`s on the front.
Hi matey, the fronts will be okey. And 10\'s do fit on the back with no probs as the volks i have are 10\'s but the +45 might rub on the inside on the arch. Can you trial fit before you buy ;)
my 19 s are 10 " wide but the offset is more like 35-38 dont think that will work
depends on tire width and lowering but should work
will fit ok as I have tried 10j\'s on mine with +45 offset
ok thanks for the help guys.
I hope they fit, really awesome wheels. :D
Picking them up this weekend so should have some pics soon-ish.
an offset of that much is moving the tyre closer to the inside of the car yes 10 "s may fit but wont they look silly being so far towards the inside of the car !!!
Re-A 9.5jj are 45+ offset and they\'re a nice fit. I\'m spaceing it 6mm to make it 39+. Either way it should make a pretty good fit if you went much more than that it would start to look silly without wider arches.

That depends on opinion - some would argue that wheels set into the arches look a bit silly ;)
BAck to the OP - It all depends on tyre choice dude :) 10j et45 with a 225 will fit easily, with a 275 there\'s going to be a bit more of an issue :)
As always, tyre choice is critical.
Sorry I should have been more clear 9.5j with a 45+ will sit almost perfectly flush with the arches. I think al little less is better prob 38ish but lower end of the 30\'s and the tyre start to sit proud of them.
That depends totally on the tyre size ;)
I can tell you for a fact that 10j et20 still puts the tread under the arches.
With a 225. ;)
When it comes to clearance, tyre size and offset are key. Wheel width is a factor, but not as significant :)
soooo...will my tyres, considering my sizes/offsets etc....be flush, stick out, or be stuck in? lol
255 et41 should present no issues :)
Although it does also depend to a certain extent on tyre shape
i think they are ET45 mate, the 10" rears, with the 255 tyres :)
Still no issues?
Heeey, found the exact same wheels, in the exact same sizes and offsets.
I remembered that Dan had the same wheels on his RX-7..so had a dig though his old posts and found some pics.

The fit seems perfect, hopefully i`ll be able to lower the car a bit more than Dan has here though.
Good Times. :Giggle
Hit them with some narrower tyres and 25mm spacers ;) :D

o0o0o now that looks nice!
Like it!
Yes mate, they will fit perfectly - no arch mods required :yes
Picked my wheels up today, they are stunning.
But, they are split rims and I want to take them apart so I can give them a good clean/refurb and possibly get the centres sprayed in a different colour.
I`ve taken all the nuts/studs out..but they wont come apart? What do I need to do exactly? Lump hammer? lol
you sure they are real splits?? the centre should come off might be bonded too...
I wouldnt recommend spliting them Trev, ive always been told that sometimes they dont reseal properly.
Got any pics matey ;)
If it\'s a 3 piece you need to run a knife round the join to cut through sealant, than tap it off with a big rubber mallet. You need to remove it evenly and when you put them together you need to re-seal with sikaflex and don\'t get any paint on the joining surfaces.
I`m only wanting the Faces to come out, I dont want to split the drums or whatever they are called.
They are blitz Z1`s...I dont know if that helps? this is them

Blitz technospeed Z1\'s :)
Yup, they\'re proper 3 pieces :)
As said - cut out the sealant, then you\'ll need to give them a good thwack with a mallet and bit of wood to protect the wheels to seperate them.
To reseal them, make sure you have thoroughly cleaned the mting surface, then use Hi Mod silicone sealant. Put a thin smear on the mating surfaces, reassemble, then run a full bead around the groove that seperates the 3 sections.
Do I need to seperate the Drum to get the Faces out though? It looks like you just need to remove the nuts to get them out?
Ah! you must be using the new five wheeled FD ;)
They look smart matey.
lol, I was going to use the extra wheel as a coffee table :D
Yay I can help! I\'m refurbing my Technospeed Z1\'s right now. Once the bolts are out you will need a rubber mallet. I used a lump hammer wrapped in some sponge and cloth and still managed to dent the inside of the spokes. Basically give each spoke a solid whack and onto the next and eventually they drop out with a clang :).
You don\'t need to split the drum you can keep it in one piece and effectively treat the wheels as two piece.

thanks mate, I was worried I was doing something wrong lol.
Off to go buy a big rubber mallet now!
how are you refurbing them mate? what are you using on the polished lip? as apparently the wheels have a laquer on them and I dont want to remove it.
What colour are you going for?
Right everything in this post is my opinion only, I\'m definitely not a wheel refurbing expert.
If your rims are in perfect condition then you can just give em a good scrub and they\'ll be fine however if there are any blemishes at all you\'ll have to kiss goodbye to that lacquer. It\'ll have to come off for you to polish the wheels.
To remove the lacquer I\'d recommend Nitromors.
My lacquer is already gone. I am sanding my lips using 400 grit, then gradually working my way up to wet 1500 grit and then finishing off with Meguiars All Metal Polysh. That\'ll be a mirror finish. Then I need to buy some wax to protect them.
My spokes are going to be dark silver/gunmetal with a couple of coats of 2k lacquer. I think, I change my mind on a regular basis but as I have a blue car I think that will be the best combination.
Good luck with it and take a look at this thread (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47479&highlight=technospeed).
Thanks for that mate, tried the rubber mallet today with no joy, centres just dont want to come out.
Maybe they have been bonded on or something? Starting to think I should give it up as a bad job and fit them as they are.
I can only tell you that I needed to really wallop mine to get them out, as I said with a 5lb lump hammer I managed to dent the inside of the spokes a little. I can imagine that someone might bond them when fitting them. I don\'t really know what you could other than wack them some more :(

lol yeah your probably right, I may get a bigger lump hammer! haha
Bigger hammer + Lots of swearing = Good Times
Centre fell out.
120 Annoying Torx Bolts to remove from remaining 4 wheels = Bad Times
lol
Are you re-using the original bolts? I`ve heard that they are stretch bolts and shouldnt really be re-used...
Not sure about that. I know D2BBA reused his bolts. I would prefer to use new bolts but I don\'t have the first clue where to get some. I contacted Blitz UK and they said that they have discontinued split rims and so can\'t supply me with replacements.
They\'re only tightened to approx 20ft/lbs so they shouldn\'t really stretch but you must use thread lock.
Will this stuff (http://www.screwfix.com/search.do;jsessionid=LOAE4YZ5IICKWCSTHZOCFFA?_dyncharset=UTF-8&fh_search=threadlock&searchbutton.x=0&searchbutton.y=0&searchbutton=submit) do?
They fit perfectly!
Soooo happy with them:

they look REALLY nice!
thanks mate!
that picture really doesnt do them justice, they look great..perfect size and fitment for the car I think.
Nice bit of tyre stretch, nice bit of camber, nice bit of slammage on the coilovers, nice bit of shiney dish.
Perfect :D lol
They look fookin ace bud #;o) #;o)
^^ +1, look awesome, dude!
+2 they look awesome :Thumbsup!
Hey Trev, glad to see the wheels have gone to a good home and they do look stunning on your car.
If you get a sec, can you send me a bigger pic, would love to see how they cleaned up.
Yeah and you can pop round for a brew this weekend matey. Give me a telel text ;)
