Title: Should I need to remap?
Post by: Jim_rx7 on February 25, 2009, 09:24:29 PM
I\'ve not long rebuilt the engine, but left the specs the same as before the rebuild.

Should I need to get the car re-mapped for any reason?

I\'ve not had the car out for a good run yet, but a bit weary incase I should get it re-mapped.

Was running fine before, water seal failure killed it.

I would say no , no need to remap if all you changed were the water seals. Who originally mapped the car? if its WGT then give them a bell to confirm, but you havent changed the VE so no need for a remap IMO

Volumetric Effieciency. eg if you change porting you increase how much air you engines consumes per rpm or exhaust, intercooler, turbo all these would change the VE of the engine, as your engine is an air pump. The more air you engine can pump the more fuel you can add therefore more power.

Should be fine mate. I got mine mapped by pip@WGT, then rebuilt the motor myself and thrashed the pants off it round the ring, been fine ever since without remapping
