Title: Federal Tyres
Post by: feelio on February 24, 2009, 07:04:51 PM
Hi all,
I\'d like to guage interest on Federal 595 RS-R Track day tyres. I can get hold of 235/45/17 and 255/40/17 (probably others on request) with a minimum order quantity.
The 235\'s are around £110
The 255\'s are around £135
Prices to confirmed if there is enough interest.

There is a 3 month lead time, at least it will be in time for the good weather.

Can we have interest and opinions on these tyres if anyone has had experience.

Here is a link to the federal site

I had these on my R33 skyline gtst, they were ok when they got a bit of temperature.
I was running 462rwhp and had some problems with traction in 2nd gear.
The Federals have a bit better grip than a good road tire, but not as good as f.ex. Toyo R888.
I tried 265/18-35 Vredestein ultrac - no traction in 2nd gear.
When going to the Federal tires I had 245/35-18 and the traction was much improved.
Did not get any wheelspin in 2nd when the tires had heated up.
