Hi everyone. An update on 1st Generations by locations. I\'ve been snooping in a few more places and have now got the list of 1st Gens up to 86.
This comprises 60xSeries 3, 18xS2 and 8xS1 (SA\'s).
I have shifted the format to Word Doc from Excel and as before, I\'m fairly sure there\'s only enough info to enable owners to say \'That\'s mine\', without giving any sensitive detail in the document. I have got 85% of Registrations now but I\'m very happy to receive any little bits and pieces of information, even if I\'ve got it already. - I\'m obviously going for 100% of all the information on all surviving 1st Gens in the UK. Includes Eire.
Come on guys, give an oldster something to compute on these winter mornings now that work is just a memory.:Snoring
LOL Tim prob has a dozen down at RX-Motors unless hes had a clearout!:Giggle
P.
Good thinking - never been there but I know he keeps a few \'in reserve\'. I\'ll e mail him at RX motors and see if he\'ll tell me what he\'s got that might make it back to the road.
Very interesting link to think just how few there are !!!!

Curious at your sig there David, how did you manage to get a 1985 car on a K reg?
Edit: Oh, and that word doc doesn\'t look right in OpenOffice :/

Ah.... the K Plate story.
We (well my wife really, with me as the spanner monkey) have run 1st Gens since 1985. We had a Series 2 (Y Reg) and a Series 3 (B Reg). Then in 1993 we heard of a mystery car supposedly under a sheet in a London Garage. It turned out to be the one we have now and it\'s a stock street car, FB Series 3, Silver, Chassis Nos from the last day\'s UK car production in Hiroshima in 1985.
B&H Mazda in Barnet had put it under the sheet covered in wax as it came off the ship in spring 1986. They finally registered it in Dec 1992 on a K plate, for various reasons, particularly they didn\'t like the look of the catalytic converter law coming in. So once registered they looked to sell it and we bought it 6 months later in June 1993, for a reasonable price I might add. That first trip up the A1 bringing it back from Barnet to South Yorks on a beautiful summer evening was absolutely fabulous - a moment like that doesn\'t come often in life. So. it\'s got 51,000 miles on it now and goes like a dream.
Sorry about the Word Doc. I\'ve tried previously uploading in Excel but the compression programme made it indecipherable for some people - however some viewers could download and rename to ordinary Excel.
Can you not download to desktop and view in ordinary Word? I know it\'s showing underlines for all my abbreviations but please can you advise what else it shows up?
Doc seems to work fine in WordPad, OpenOffice wanted to display protrait which then missed all the notes.
Not many left and so few series 1s!
I take it mine is 36?
It now lives in Hampshire, is currently grey primer, but will be \'Stormy Blue Mica\' (from the MX-5). Bought for £70 as a roling shell.
There is also a black S1 in Hampshire

Indeed it is Bish. Colour is duly amended so don\'t go spraying it Custom Yellow! The Nos. are for convenience counting so yours may not always be 36. That way, if another FB gets added in another area above South England, all the Nos push down 1 digit.
Thanks for the Hampshire one. I\'ve also got an unknown location Black S1 which Rotaryart are selling. Could that be same car? Anyway I\'ve added the new one in as well till I can find out.

Yes, .....I think I understand now, The Excel Spreadsheet was formatted for 2 pages across.
Isn\'t it interesting how the numbers tumble S3....S2....S1. That could be a function of numbers sold, as well as natural wastage of course, but I don\'t really know why. Also I would think just about every S1 owner will be in 1 club or another, whereas maybe a few S2, S3\'s are still outside of any club??
No worries - I don\'t think they\'d be the same car...
There\'s also mine that was in Essex :D

*** 585V. Got it thanks on my main record sheet. Shown as taken to Italy but somehow missed off this post. Now corrected, Thanks again.
I HAVE AN EX cALIFORNIA 79 IN YELLOW
BYN951T SOON TO BE PREPPED FOR FIA HISTORIC RACING. A MINT SHELL, WAS OWNED BY ELDERLY GENT FROM 93- ABOUT 2004
Is 44/58.5 mine? Silver with partial TWR bodykit on MRC calendar? If so it\'s kept in Central England :)

Excellent information thanks. No, I\'m convinced now we have 2 different silver cars with TWR kits. I think yours is *816***? Yes? That\'s the one on the MRC calendar. The other is the same year as yours but belongs to an MRC Mod. Only have the year letter for this 2nd car.
But great stuff, another FB sorted out. Thanks again.

Thanks Jon, All entered up. That\'s 11 Series 1\'s (SA\'s) now.
very interesting to see just how many there are, not many considering such a big selling car in its day.

Yes, though I\'m up to 93 now. Bit of a jump in Nos. over the last few weeks as information starts to come in.
Seen your FD list has started Chris.....You\'re making the posts do the work.....hmmm smart move.

Hi! It might be the same car possibly? (My other half is an MRC Mod = Brett)
I\'ve never got around to putting any pics up of the FB, so it would have been hard to track I\'m sure! LOL! ;)

Yes.... Same Car. That\'s good as well because it\'s more firm information and a duplicate can be taken off the list. Thanks for getting back.
By the way, I\'m entering location for your car as West Mids rather than Central England. That\'s right isn\'t it?
David.

Hi David
Probably better as it\'s not often in London or down South (it\'s harder for Brett and I to store cars down there (but we do move them about)) :) I always still think of it as edge of Staffs, but if West Mids category is easier it\'s OK.
No problems - interesting list :)

Thanks v much Don. I didn\'t know where you were so your car was one of the unknown locations. Now amended, but amazed to find (Looking on map) that Tunbridge Wells is Kent. Thought it was Sussex or Surrey.
Car is *177***, yes?, Heavily modded with turbo?

Thanks John, duly entered.
Thats me. Just had it re-sprayed in light blue metallic. Its about to receive a silly larger turbo & coil overs to go with the FC 4 pots & steering rack. Cant wait! Hee Hee!:Thumbsup!
David,
I think that number 54 on the word doc. may be my vehicle. I\'m sure I was the only red 1st Gen. at Brooklands that day. For the record, the reg. is C807 YPO and we live in Norfolk.
Regards

Morning Kevin and thanks. I\'d got your Reg but didn\'t know who it was or where the vehicle came from. All in place now and another unknown off the list.
I\'m up to 97 cars now, comprising 67 S3, 19 S2 and 11 S1 (SA\'s).

MESSAGE FOR DON PLEASE.
Hi Don. Quick question. In a very early post from about 2004, you had got Sean Houlihans car, a white S3 *601 ***, not the turbo light blue you\'ve got now. You don\'t know what\'s happened to that white car do you? Sorry for communication method but I can\'t PM you.
Cheers. David
