Hi people, have these wheels on my skyline and I\'ve noticed a few Rx7\'s running them so thought this a good place to ask..
How the hell do you get the centre caps off????
Might sound stoopid, but, removing the (obvious) spring clip, does nothing, there are no visible bolts or anything, do they unscrew or something?. The big nut in the middle is all part of the centre cap, but is this used to turn the whole thing?. I\'ve tried turning them but they won\'t budge, I don\'t want to force them until I know for sure this is the way. They seem quite seized being alloy and I don\'t want to break them.
Any offers?.:)
Doh!, edited to add pics..

meh wheels are simelar i aint took em off yet tho lol try the litle holes they might be alen key holes
nothing behind the holes, you can just see the wheel nuts..
dude i seriously dont have a clu :S
lol, no worries, just wait for someone wjo has these wheels to come along...
:o :D
I thought wheels like this came with a giant hex key/wrench thing ?
..ive got these wheels which look similar..I take the spring out then the large bolt in the middle should unscrew, by hand...it\'s metal on the outside for looks but plastic inside to stop the bolt and wheel welding together..HOWEVER..mines were very, very hard to unscrew...took lots off attempts!!!!
Good Luck. Let me know how you get on.
Marc

Yes, they should come with a thing to remove them but these go walkies a lot.
hex wrench may be the same size as old bbs bmw alloys or tsw\'s used that style. whats the distance \'across flats\'?
..did you manage to get the centre piece off??
Marc
Hi guys, many thanks for the help.
I have yet to get them off :o
I haven\'t been using the car for a while and it\'s been tucked away in my garage. Just need something big enough to try and undo them. They deffinately won\'t undo by hand.
Marc, the spring clip is different to your wheels, the nut is all part of the centre cap and removing the spring clip has no bearing on the centre cap.
James,
Have you tried a shop specializing in alloy wheels?
If not a friendly heavy engineering works should have a socket that size, see if they have one slightly bigger and put a cloth over the nut.....i\'m sure they would help you out if you sling a fiver in the boys direction....
If you can\'t source a key or socket for the centre nut then place a tea towel (or something similar) over the wheel to stop it scratching and a set of metal \'G\' clamps of suitable size should release the nut. make sure you put them in the centre of the flats for maximum leverage. Keep them as close to the wheel as possible (hence the cloth!) and it should move, BE VERY CAREFUL USE TWO HANDS, ONE TO PUT LEVERAGE ON AND THE OTHER ABOVE THE HAND TO LIMIT MOVEMENT IF IT DOES SLIP! Dont want you breaking any fingers or scratching the wing!!
Cheers
Donato
Donato, funny you should say that.. I was looking for my G clamp last night (which I can\'t find grrr).
Seems people, think they do unscrew, so as soon as I get round to it thats the way I\'ll tackle it. Just hope they are supposed to unscrew and I don\'t break them lol :rollin
Thanks
Mine unscrew, but are normally so tight I have to jump on the wrench thing
They look like mazdaspeed splits. The big nut and the centre around are fake on mine. It prizes off to reveal five inset studs. The guy who changed my tyres did say \'Dont bring it to him next time\', so good luck.
