I think everyone knows about my prob with my fc!
so, heres a new prob.
Not sure what the future holds but might be \'migrating\' from uk to either Hong Kong or Singapore (SG)about mid year or next year.
so what to do with the fc?! dont think they will allow it in SG as they very anti-pollution there.
so do i spend 3k(ish) and get my fc rebuilt n drive for a bit (which i\'ll be super :Laugh:Laugh:Laugh) and then sell when / if i migrate? not sure on market value but you know what parts i got n will be a healthy 350bhp or so, maybe £3k if im lucky?
or just leave it as it is and sell as is, prob wont get even £1k with gone water seals! then sell the tub n pfc etc seperate?
less of a loss financially in the latter option and rather than being :Laugh:Laugh:Laugh i\'ll be more :(:(:( without an fc to drive.

if you KNOW you will have to sell - then i have to admit - i wouldnt be tempted with getting it rebuilt - you prob wont see that money back
might be worth breaking it for spares - or sell as a rolling chassis and then get a EGI to play with for the next 12 months
just my £0.02p worth mind you
if u get rid of the tub, you can swap your intercooler with mine (stock) and a bit of monies your way. :D

If you\'ve got the money then I don\'t really think you need to us to answer this for you. If you don\'t have the money then Hmmmmm maybe a second hand engine? Or rebuild it yourself if you can.

depends on how \'might\' the move to HK might be.
Also the suggestion for a 2nd hand engine is a good one - at least you get to enjoy the car and you can still sell the broken one for a couple of hundred I would imagine

Be such a shame to break the car, you can pick a 2nd hand engine up for £600 or even by a rust bucket just for the engine and scrap the rest. I \'ll buy my manifold back though, lol. You will never get your money back but I think we all know that when we first started buying these cars. I defy anyone who can make money on these cars simply by spending a fortune on customising, engine, mods etc etc etc. It just aint gonna happen in this current market. Catch 22 at the moment, maybe get someone to buy the shell of you as its a good shell and sell any extras to recoup some of the money.
Ive seen someone advertising (sp) a rebuilt TII block for £300 cant think where tho, will try and find it.
Found it, its on FDUK. Might have to register, although it just says FC. Might be TII tho ;)

wish i had the money! 2nd hand engine is kinda gd idea but they can go pop 1k miles down the road which is money wasted :(
be good to try rebuild the engine but dunt thnik parents would like grease all over the lounge lol

im looking for a hks manifold, so tub can sit in same spot rather than moving forward so if i find one then will keep u in mind lol

ok.. well.. moving to SG is cos gf thniking about moving / transfer there for work.. but i might be offered a job in hk in april.
new though after thinking about it long and hard while at work.
find decent fresh 13bt (thought about getting a 13b re but not that simple to fit into fc) then use that n sell current 13bt (as prof suggested)
will spend lots less that way n then if i move then my sis bf is gonna be a very un/lucky man n can take it out for a spin once in a while to keep it running.
if anyone comes across a fresh rebuilt 13bt can they point me in that direction thanks :)
oh.. WILL treat it to a carls special if i can find :)
hope will be back on track to giv m1tch n tiddles a good spanking down the strip :p

The cunning plan could be to fit that engine in the car and then get a blown engine and bridgeport it :) then sell the OEM engine when its ready? :)
