ive fitted me apexi ecu, done the usual in setting it up, now wen the engine is warm and no electrics on like heater, lights, a/c.... the revs flick from 900rpm to 1500rpm for around 1 to 2minutes. if ive got the lights on and heater on the revs set lower than 900rpm then pick up again, this only happens wen i stop at sum lights or roundabout, wot have i done....???
what is "the usual" to set up an apexi ecu. Doesn\'t it need re-mapping?
brand new ecu, got told with my de cat , front pipe and induction kit, should run fine without being mapped.... plugged her in left the engine running 4 10mins, then went through all the electrics turning them on 4 10mins 1 after another
Am about to fit my PFC this evening. I have noticed on another car with a PFC that it hunts at idle like that.
We thought it was possibly down to a slight vac leak. The stock ECU is perhaps a tad more tolerant. But don\'t quote me.
The US forums talk about cutting some of the wires on the stock harness. I beleive that they wires have something to do with the Aircon system.
I am holding off to see if anyone knows what the wire cutting is all about
DO NOT CUT ANYTHING!!!!!!
There is no need to cut wires for the apexi to work properly. There is a setting that needs changing to sort out a bouncy idle.
And reguardless of what mods you have, you should always get it properly mapped.
