i found a t-piece to splice a temp sender into the throttle coolant line, problem is, i had to wedge the sender in as it was a plastic job with no thread:

the t piece was soaked in boiling water and after a bit of pushing it finally went in, although as much as i tried i couldn\'t get that threaded section in. even though it looks wobbly that jubilee clip is on as tight as it goes, i\'ve given it a wiggle and it doesn\'t move.
i\'m a bit worried that it won\'t hold the pressure. has anyone else gone down the bodge route?
Will that give an accurate reading? Will you not just get a section of ponded water in the t section whilst coolant flows past on the straight. Or is the end of the probe long enough to be in the path of coolant flow?

now that i didn\'t think of, i just assumed that the pressure in the system would keep pushing water through...
just buy a sensor holder for the main rad hose... they are like 15-20 quid, i got the coolant sensor attachment and an oil plate for the oil filter and it came to 35 quid i think!
i don\'t really want to tap into the radiator top hose, partly because it\'s a bit messier and mainly because it only gives a reading when the thermostat is open (i think).
