Title: Custom exhaust
Post by: JimboJones on February 05, 2009, 02:53:30 PM
Hi,

does anyone have any experience with the universal exhaust components from Vibrant Performance? How is the quality the performance and the sound? Are there any other things I have to pay attention for when using a universal muffler on a rotary?
I´m thinking about building my own custom "dual dolphin tail" exhaust.

The plan would be cutting off my old Fujitsubo Legalis-R muffler and weld the new one right on the existing piping. The piping itself is in good condition but the Fujitsubo muffler had to be welded allready and doesn´t look that good.

Thanks!

I think you will need to watch out for what the back box is packed with? Because i know rotary engines burn REALLY hot exhaust temps and sometimes the stuff that universal or low quality back boxes are stuffed with can melt or worse go on fire.

Never heard of Vibrant Performance so i cant coment on the quality of there stuff i\'m afraid. Like i say though watch out for its ability to handle HIGH temp gasses!

Bought a load of stuff from Jetex - I think they may be the guys that supply Vibrant, but could be wrong.

Have a poke on //www.jetex.co.uk for their universal sections range.

I agree with Jimi on this, that glasspac stuff or normal muffling will just burn up, need to be SS or ceramic wool I think in order for it not to burn!
