Title: Turbo oil pipe gasket question...
Post by: Jim_rx7 on February 03, 2009, 02:09:08 PM
Is there anything I can use instead of the original metal gaskets?

I noticed on taking my motor apart it seems to missing a few of these gaskets. Is there something else I can use instead? Ie, some sort of gasket compound?

thanks in advance!

Probably the one place where you really do want to use a gasket - get an oil leak near the turbo and you will have smoke for sure - and quite possibly a small fire.  You could make your own gaskets out of gasket material - not sure why the oil feed/return gaskets would be metal anyway.  How about posting a pic of the item ?
