I have just noticed even though the Intercooler etc is doing its job and the Upper Inlet is stone cold the Turbo is heating up the lower inlet to the degree its to hot to touch??
Is there any Heat shield i can get that will effectively put something in the way so the Manifold is not exposed to so much heat??
Also i am shopping for a Beanie for the hot side, where is the best place to try?? Is it some thing i need to get from the US?

Be careful with beanies for the hot side of the turbo, it will reduce the underbonnet temps, but all that heat will stay in the turbo, so it will run hotter and might cause cracking if you aren\'t careful.
Is your car an FD or FC?
Its an FD.
So what is the best way of doing it?? I have done some searching today and i\'m thinking of making one of these (just a bit bigger) out of Nimbus G2

I was thinking if it covered all the lower Manifold and then make up something like this to stop anything falling onto the Hot side by Accident and cut down the radiated heat.

Then if i wrap the down pipe and make a shield for the Servo/Master Cylinder do you think it would be enough??
Also is there anyone who has used Nimbus G2? would i need to make a Stainless shield then Rivet it on or is it stiff enough to make the Shields directly out of it and it last ok??
I got mine ceramic coated with a heatshield coating on both the turbo, downpipe and the LIM.

Out of interest, have you ever took the temp of the lower inlet after a good run?? I hear Ceramic coating is very good but i have little to no experiance with it.
I\'ve been doing some reading up, with no protection people have seen well over 100deg on the outer surface of the manifold, this worries me, after doing a bit more reading turns out the Nimbus G2 can drop 500 to 80 at a distance of 20 mm so i\'m thinking a heat shield made of this can\'t be bad.
There is the 1 bar rolling road coming up in the next few weeks so i\'m trying to sort out any issues before then so it don\'t pop on the Dyno, Not that i\'m paranoid or anything :)
I haven\'t and the car is in bits at the minute !!
Will do when its back in one piece. The coating takes about 3 weeks to do too !
Kev was running ceramic coating on his cosmo but im not sure if he is on his new setup.
