Title: Ride hight??
Post by: Grizzly on January 31, 2009, 03:45:28 PM
First off sorry if this has been covered before, i did search but couldn\'t find what i was after.

Ok, What is the lowest arch to floor clearance you can get away with on an Fd without having issues with adjustment (camber and such)

Also is there any rules to setting ride height up? i.e. does the back have to be higher than the front etc?? I have read it needs to be 1/2" up at the back but is this with driver or without??

A bit of background, the car we\'re playing with is on 17" rims with a good offset so there is no real close places, it is running Tein HA\'s which are fairly stiff. At the moment its set to 25" front and 25" 1/4 rear, when you stand back and look at the car it looks ok but i don\'t know if it is my Imagination but before the Teins when on i could swear it was lower??? (In hindsight i should have measured it first) Then i don\'t want to lower it too much and face the problem where the camber etc can\'t be adjusted enough to get it back to where it should be??

Any ideas?? I suppose i should be asking what is considered low in the FD world??

Also for anyone that has experiance with HA\'s, The rear is making a squeak every so often in no regular patern (more when pulling off vigorously rather than cornering) i am 80% sure its coming from the rear but both sides?? is this normal or do i have a Problem? they work ok just this noise is odd??

From what I’ve read 25 ins is the ideal height front and back, for performance rather than looks.
I have HA\'s too and don’t get any noise. Have a read here, at least the first few pages as it has some good info.http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=723617

If your car has fully adjustables on,you can decide what your opitmim(sp) ride should be,in doing this, why dont you do corner weights and set your car up the way it should set up.?  after that you have have all wheel alighnment done.sorted fella ?

I don\'t want to come across as a complete Noob but what do you mean by setting it by Corner weights??

Setting the corner weights adjusts the weight of the car on each wheel so that they are even by adjusting the height of the suspension.
Have a good long read of that thread I posted when you get a spare day or two, all will be revealed.
