wanna take my air pump off, do i need a twin belt pulley like i have read in some posts???
does anywhere just sell an off the shelf kit?? something easy and i can get like this week so i can do it this weekend???
Im sure ive seen these for sale on the dragon website mate
yeh saw a few posts saying you should use twin belt pulleys though... but im not sure if that is just for fc\'s?
I got the airpump removed on my new engine...and as far as i\'m aware...all i needed was a BOP(block off plate) kit....
It was purchaced from Dragon performance, i think!
It was for a 13b in an FD

:D
Has anyone done the airpump removal using MRP\'s fan belt? I was under the impression there was not enough contact on the remaining pullys for this to work correctly.
just out of intrest.. if i disconnect the air pump on the plug will it play with my emmisions on the CAT? ive heard it can cause issues to your car if you remove the air pump.My cars standard ecu etc etc thanks.
do not disconnect your airpump if you are still running a CAT
why? will it cause issues?
yes the life of your CAT will shorten, as no extra air will enter it, on a stock ECU removing the air pump will cause idle issues

We actually sell a lot of these belts for FD\'s and have never ever had a complaint or problem about the contact area or any other relating and this belt which was tested before being sold as you will see from my own cars engine bay back in 2003 ,
I know I have said this before but the reason I sourced this odd sized belt in the first place was because I have never agreed with running the water pump slower on an FD or any road car come to that because the last thing you want on a hot day sitting in traffic with a hot FD is a water pump running slower than it should be.
Under-drive pulleys are designed to stop the water pump cavitating at constant high revs on race cars where the pump spins so fast that the pump can stop pumping water because effectively an air cavity has formed around the impeller and so the impeller has no water to pump any more,
We do not sell any under-drive kits because of this possibility hence the short belt being successfully sold for the last 5 years.
Thanks clive, that was exactly the kind of informed post i was looking for.
