Title: Switching from water to methanol
Post by: Hi RX7 on January 28, 2009, 02:02:45 PM
I have a Snows water injection kit on my RX7 will I need to get the map changed to run methanol instead of water?

nope not unless you have mapped for water in the first place

Most use water or methanol as safety to bring down air inlet temps on boost.

I run 50/50 meth water on my WI and its not mapped but have it coming in at 13psi

Any reason why you want to swap to 100 percent Methonal David?

Stick to a 50:50 mix. Water has the greater heat absorbing abilities of the two and the Methonal gives you more BTUs as it were best of both worlds, you would not need to change your map if it was mapped with water in the first place.
If it wasnt mapped for water originally then you will find you maybe running richer with the 50:50 mix therefore robbing power and may need it remapped to take some fuel out.

I\'ll check with Re-Worx about the mapping and maybe opt for the 50/50 mix.

Yep I found running 50:50 gave me the best results in the past
