As said above it\'ll either be the temp sensor in the water housing or one of the fan relays which are the rubber covered bits sitting in the metal frame just infront of the drivers suspension turret.

The fans are operated from the Thermoswitch on the back of the stat housing, the one with a single wire, my fans did not work either, as the thermoswitch works by basically grounding its wire to earth, i shorted the single wire to earth at the housing end, but still no fans came on as there was no continuity on this wire to relay number 3. the wiring had broken down somewhere, so i rewired it, and it worked fine, it is this wire that can also be connected into a switch in the cabin to overide the thermoswitch and turn the fans on, without the AC, i have not done that yet as i replaced the thermoswitch for a lower temp one= 96c instead of 106c as standard, i also fitted a Water temp guage, at the same time, (good mod!) i cant remember wire colours etc, for more info search ro284\'s - FD Temp guage and Thermoswitch mod. i would start with continuity check on the wire
Good luck Bob

thanks. taking things apart is the easy bit.. putting them back together without nuts n bolts left over is the hard part lol
