Title: RX clean up
Post by: HOSS on January 25, 2009, 09:22:54 PM
not been too happy with the position of the number plate since i got it

but it must have been there a while,an has caused some damage while its been up there

so i decided it was time this week to move it an start to sort the front end out too

first off i removed the number plate an big ass bracket
(http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/1964/numberplateremovalni1.th.jpg) (http://img177.imageshack.us/my.php?image=numberplateremovalni1.jpg)

then using sticky i decided where i wanted it
(http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8548/numberplateloweredma4.th.jpg) (http://img144.imageshack.us/my.php?image=numberplateloweredma4.jpg)

then it was onto the de-badging,rubbing down, filling an primer\'ing of the nose
an stripping off of the splitters black paint
(http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4046/splitterstrippedleftgm9.th.jpg) (http://img101.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterstrippedleftgm9.jpg)(http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/165/splitterstrippedrightcljg3.th.jpg) (http://img441.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterstrippedrightcljg3.jpg)(http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/2262/splitterstrippedleftcloqd8.th.jpg) (http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterstrippedleftcloqd8.jpg)(http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/4899/splitterstrippedfronton7.th.jpg) (http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterstrippedfronton7.jpg)

which in its self brought up added extras (as always lol)

so now ive got some fixing of the splitter to do too

(http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/975/splitterstrippedfrontmawe6.th.jpg) (http://img264.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterstrippedfrontmawe6.jpg)(http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/8831/splittermaskedprimercoaex7.th.jpg) (http://img177.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splittermaskedprimercoaex7.jpg)

so for now at least its half way to tidy\'ed up lol
(http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/2072/splitterinprimerhighrigrq6.th.jpg) (http://img144.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterinprimerhighrigrq6.jpg)(http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/4430/splitterinprimerhighqj9.th.jpg) (http://img259.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterinprimerhighqj9.jpg)(http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/7271/splitterinprimerlowgd2.th.jpg) (http://img144.imageshack.us/my.php?image=splitterinprimerlowgd2.jpg)

on a slightly differing note,i also gave the engine bay a clean
before
(http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/6339/strutbracerightij9.jpg)

after
(http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/8286/enginebaycleanupfrontij5.jpg)
(http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/7366/enginecleanupleftii2.th.jpg) (http://img159.imageshack.us/my.php?image=enginecleanupleftii2.jpg)

also cleaned my lovely mazdaspeed rotor oil dipstick
(http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/8978/mazdaspeedoilcaple1.th.jpg) (http://img441.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mazdaspeedoilcaple1.jpg)

an also got myself a little E-bay treat too

an RX8 rotor gear knob
(http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/2272/rx7gearknobrx8ay8.jpg)

fits into your hand lovely,an threaded straight onto my quick-shift stick
shame it doesnt make it six speed though lol:3gears-rh

this big ass bracket you speak of - is it black , moulded like the bumper and the plate sits on the inside

if so - do you still have it ???????????
