The headlights on the Rx7 seem to be the worst I\'ve ever come across!! lol.
Very poor.
What\'s the normal route for upgrading these somehow. I also want to stay with the popups.
I take it you have an FD? Is it a Jap import with H4H headlights or UK model with H4? (Prety much the same just H4H are a bit smaller)
Because my UK FC headlights are superb!:mmmm And i used to have a Jap import Honda CRX siR with H4H headlights. I\'d have been better shining a torch out the window!
If its a UK 7 You can upgrade your headlights to H4 HID very easily. Many kits available both for low beam only and high beam. Go for 6000K. Best light output.
VERY dificult to find H4H HID kits of any quality. A few Stateside are suposidly ok but youd be better (and prob cheeper) to just find UK spec H4 headlight housings and then upgrade to H4 HID\'s from there.
i\'ve got one of the virtual daylight 6k hid kits, dead easy to install and loads better
Jap car.
So is it more difficult to fit HID kits to the jap car?

Hope this helps
Wow, £200 for a HID kit?
They\'d better have a long guarantee and be bolt on!
You can ge much cheaper HID kits and they\'re surprisingly good - th £80 set I had on my 14a was superb, and that was china\'s finest.
I\'ve always found that HID kits don\'t seem to work very well on non projector lights tbh - the beam pattern is too fuzzy as well, so you risk causing quite a lot of upset to other road users.

We sell a dip only version for around £60 less which is more than adequate for most people,
We have been offered "china\'s finest" for very little money literally hundreds of times but we choose to use an old established U/K company called Wipac instead so we know we are selling something of quality and have good back up for our customers should there be any problems,
Yes they come with a good guarantee of 15 months and are plug to plug fittings,
Real puzzled by your comments about fuzzy patterns and problems for other road users as we have used these kits on all sorts of vehicles with varying condition of lamps and as our customers and ourselves have not experienced what you have so I can only suggest that maybe you have not been using china\'s finest after all :Giggle.
Just installed Halfords +90% H4\'s seem to make things much better - they are doing a two for one deal at the moment so cost less than £20. Did some reseach and they are one the better bulbs.
Details are Halfords Extreme Brilliance Single Bulb HBU472EB H4. Up to 90% brighter than a standard headlight bulb £18.99 each (buy one get one free)
Hi John,
Whilst I hope this works for you and you haven\'t wasted your money once installed please keep an eye on you wiring,
I went through all this on my first Gen 2 and then again on my first Gen 3 because as we all know the lights on these cars are appalling and wasted money on all types of recommended bulbs with very little in terms of results,
Even worse, on the Gen 3 where the bulbs were drawing more power the wiring got hot, discolored the wires and made the plug brittle,
Then we finally found the answer in the HID kit which to my mind is the single best safety improvement on any generation RX-7 plus they don\'t draw extra power to endanger your wiring etc,
Rated at 60/55 same as stanard so amperage draw same stanard. Improved optics and tighter tolerence - not bigger bulbs

Anymore info on the kit your using mate?
Infact tue 4300k gives the best light. Thats the main reason manufactures use 4300k\'s OE.
I have the HID Kit with crystal lenses from MRP and its pretty good, though much care has to be taken fitting them and placing your ballasts as with all pop up lights they can be awkward.
My only criticism which maybe Clive can shed some light on (:D) is what bulbs i need to use for the main beam as they are not HID and are very very poor, although i have never needed to use them.

Here to shed some light, sorry that so corny I can\'t believe I wrote it :o
Anyway the kit you have is the Dip only HID kit but as you say it\'s so good you really don\'t need main anymore anyway,
