This all depends on if it\'s a pre March 06 or post March 06:2Confused.
If it\'s pre March then it\'s 210 quid.
If it\'s post March 06 then it\'s 400 quid.
It\'s all to do with pre March cars falling in band F and not G even though they kick out the same CO2.
At the moment they have held off on the retrospect tax for cars registered before March 06.
Hope that makes some sense:confused:.

Yep!  That\'s what my 04 plate costs.  Although it could change in 2010.

They get you in lots of ways with tax on cars these days,

Our car is a 2004 however we are paying 400 per year tax because it was imported in 2007 and is therefore  classed as a new car,

Lisa went and checked twice before we paid, this must affect many cars this way

We aren\'t, that\'s why the RX8 is so damn cheap at the moment.  No one wants a sports car that costs £400 to tax and doesn\'t do much better than 26mpg.  Even if it can match pace with a 350z and laps the TG track in the same time as a 6 cylinder BMW M3.

To be honest the tax issue is the least of our worries - as Will said RX-8 just aren\'t selling (well not for sensible money anyway).

I couldn\'t aford to have mine as a daily runner but fortunately I don\'t need to use it that much. Shame I can\'t afford an R3 though.

Wow. is it me or is the price of a RX8 comparable to the price of an FD... except the Fd is cheaper to run on a daily basis?

Keeping my 8 for the moment as I still need a car when I do pop back to the UK to visit but a lil worried what I\'ll get when I eventually decide to sell it. Shame as its probably the best car I\'ve owned.

Got to agree,

In theory we have lost a lot of money however you only lose the money if your selling and as we have no intention of selling we have lost nothing

Thats the kinda thinking we need. All too easy to focus on the what ifs and forget what we really do have.

OK, I\'ll just carry on driving with thought that I\'m in a \'£25K\' not a \'£7K\' car, then, and stiffle the nausating sickness every time I pass a Mazda garage... ;)
