Title: Steering help pls
Post by: L18M on January 15, 2009, 01:40:33 AM
my fc does steer.. but everytime when the wheels are straight and i turn the wheel about 120 degrees either clockwise or anti-clockwise, theres a springey kinda ping comming from the front n/s corner of the car.

anyone know what this can be?
i know nothing about steering apart from it makes the car turn either left or right :D

Might be the lower wishbone worn. Mine does this and I think its because of the wider alloys on the front. Does not do it with 18\'s on but does with 17\'s which are a bit wider. The wider wheels will alter the geo of the car but which bit is making the noise I dont know. On mine it feels like a joint of some sort.

I get this rythmical bump/knock when turning the car on full lock - but did a test this morning in the car park at work, and it seems that it only does it when the \'suspension\' is cold.  Springs and bushes are new, so not sure if this is tired shocks, wheel bearings or ball joints, as these weren\'t replaced on the last overhaul.
