Title: Problems
Post by: Ric Mat on January 11, 2009, 07:11:54 PM
wright, i\'ve done my presentation, the car\'s one too, now let\'s begin with the problems, i have a tackle of a spring valve in my engine compartment, that so because me and Mazda are quite sure it ain\'t from the engine itself, it\'s not constant, we know there ain\'t any valves, it appears in the point where the throtle pedal opens the next two carb butterflyes, over or under that point it does nothing, it\'s just perfect, it throtles well with no problems but the high flow pannel filter i\'ve installed, i\'ve been careless putting the lid back to place due to open public place where i\'m known for modifying cars allready so i\'ve cared less a pushrod or two, is sure sealed and the air takes it\'s normal way, i\'ll finish the job well as a promise. Any way the filter didn\'t work well, it throtles better at low revs, about the same in the midle ones and less in the last 2000, i\'m about to put back the stock one that i didn\'t allready cose i\'ve thrown it to the garbish bin immediatly bellieving in the knew filter, i was thinking about giving a bit more of gaz to the carb, althought, if the filter makes such a diference, i\'m about to give up before i do what i shouldn\'t, i\'ve modifyed a lot of 4 stroke engines, but they accept everything, two stroke engines ain\'t the same, they\'re very peculiar about the gaz\'n\'air mix, for the filter i observed the same about the rotary engine... i don\'t want to be careless about this any longer, it costs too much. Meanwhile if you say that sharpening carb will help, i have the manual to see how but i need to know if the ecu will get the ignition advance wright by it self, if it needs programming i\'ll just put the stock filter back.

Think I will have a beer or two and then I\'ll see if I can make any sense of what you have posted.

The only thing I will add is that that keep the aftermarket filter on!!!  That will play no part in strange noises and will not need any sort of reprogramming to the ECU or timing.
Trouble is the noise could be just vibration so you need to iliminate anything external of the engine before you start ripping apart throttle bodies and the like. It may be a worn butterfly spindle and that may cause you to get the noise and the after market filter will amplify this.

Even after a beer I was not too sure but in a few words I think he has some strange noises coming from his engine. Until we have some better english to pinpoint exactly where then its any bodies guess whats been said.
