Having trouble with my FD i flooded it due to starting it then turning it straight off. I pulled the plugs dried and heated them but then it only ran what seemed to be on one rotor. I have also tried pulling out the EGI fuse trick but will not even fire now. Any ideas? (The engine, plugs, leads etc are all new.)
All I can say is try and perceiver if you can, it should go from your description,
Give the battery a good charge so you can crank it for a while without plugs in and then with,
If wll else fails and you have a towing eye you can get to then give it a tow but if you do put it in say 3rd stay off the throttle and let it slowly fire up of it\'s own accord, you will realise when it running even half right.
this morning went through the same steps but put a little oil in each of the bottom spark plug ports it started but really ran rough with popping now and again. Would it be safe to keep running it like this for a while to try and clear it?
Yes it will sort it\'s self out and clear o/k
Will give it a go now. Cheers mate.
After alot of popping and smoke she is alive and running fine. Thanks Clive.
question... my FC slept for three month. my batt is not the best but it should start... it crank a lot but it doesnt fire up... (gas tank contains only 4 liters ... but it should start....)
Im not too clued up on the fc but think the process of de-flooding is about the same. I would try giving it a toe to bump start it and go from there.

The petrol\'s probably denatured (gone off). Unleaded loses its potency really very quickly, and even starts turning into a varnish-like substance in small amounts (like in carb emulsion tubes, for example). Throw in some fresh petrol or an octane booster and it should fire ok so long as the battery\'s charged :Thumbs-up
i hope so... cause i can here my walbro255l pumping ^^
tomorrow i will test it again with a fully loaded batt and fresh petrol :Santa
batt shows 12V ... and on cranking down to 8V...
15l pertrol filled in...

tomorrow i try to start with a "starterspray" ;)
otherwise i´m going to look after the sparks... if they fire up.
it runs again... :god
all cables rewired... now its starting again :)
*very happy*
but the hot start problem is still alive :Grrr
but therefor i´ll write another thread!
Hot start problems can be a number of things to a worn engine to a badly set up TPS/idle. Its definately worth checking the TPS when its hot and recheck the idle everytime you adjust it. Sometimes just a little tweak here and there can have an enormous affect on its smooth running.
yes TPS checking is on the "to do´s" :D
