Hi, I have carried out a compression test by listening to the noise rather than by a gauge as i dont have one that fits!! Here was my original post

Anyway, could all you experts out there have a listen and comment on the noise.
P.s. the camera was placed under the car thats why the volume is loud. The Psssh noises were very loud and clear and seemed equal to me...but have a listen for yourselves:
Its on YOUTUBE

Thanks
Ash
sounds fine to me compression wise
So would you say that my starting problem hot and cold is not down to poor compression??
its not clear how strong the compression is. Id have to hear it in person to know that...im not fixed particularly well for time this week but if you wer about in watford (i assume still?) at some point during the week, i ccould have a listen and tell you if the compression is strong or not. All i can tell from that is that its fairly even
Hi Jit, thanks for the offer mate but Carl Hayward is doing a compression test for me tomorrow so I will see what comes of that. I will let you know how it all goes......fingers crossed!
Good luck dude hope its not serious.
Just got back from Carl Haywards work place...and the results are not great but could be worse!
Front rotor just over 4 bar:(
Rear rotor just under 4 bar:(
Carl was a top bloke and looked at a few other things. He reckons that its most likely the springs have gone rather than a seal or anything major.
Its weird as she drives actually quite well, idles too high but there is quite a nice amount of useable power, no power interuptions and is actually a please to drive.
Oh well, now its decision time, to sell, to break or to rebuild myself???
P.s. Its a single tub (small - medium size turbo), Apexi ECU, loads of good aftermarket bits and bobs.
