Hey everyone :) I just thought I would make a suggestion about this 2nd gen section after someone commented about how they saw lots of good looking FCs on here (well yea FCs are the best :D)
I just thought that perhaps we could start a thread with good looking FCs to show any new coming what you can do to an FC as they aren\'t common at all!

Mine was far less servere than that. I got away lightly considering the location of my crash. I was on a wet rounderbout exiting onto on of the M6 slip roads. Slip being the correct word;) Armco barriers and FC\'s dont mix! It was nearly the end of the FC. Infact if I hadn\'t had a second FC (non runner) for spares then it probably would have been. These days though you wouldn\'t even know it had been bumped.

Ah damn roundabouts, they always give me the fear. Lucky you had a doner FC mate. So do you use your car as a weekend toy or all the time? Ive never actually driven mine in about a year, and even then it was only to dring it up from the docks at Newcastle. Dunno if am gonna punt it or keep it, might keep it tho as its just had a rebuild and new ecu fitted.

Its 1 of the nicest RX\'s ive saw, was actually meant to be brung over to sell, but fell in love with it, pity it broke, altho works now(hopefully after a 6k rebuild).
My GTR is an R32, 800bhp, single turbo(T88), just had a full engine rebuild(covered 1 mile since), 2.7litre over bore, lots of head work, racing manifold, uprated ecu, race brake setup, paddle clutch, bigger injectors and uprated fuelling system, forged rods and pistons, special crank, and lots of other bits n bobs, way too much to remember from the top of my head, but needless to say its a weapon(Engine just cost me 10 grand in August, rebuild was needed as my old fuel pumps failed, was gutted).

Panasport G7\'s with extra wide rear lips?
With £300ish, I can recreate that :D I\'ve got G7\'s (2 dented), just need to get mega wide lips! Any idea what width and offset they are btw?
yeah know they\'re defo panasports, but to be honest papercutout, i have no idea about offset, my mate that was out with me in japan recons they could be as much as 10-11 inches wide!! would i be right in saying that G7\'s are a v. heavy wheel?

pictures on tinternet of the panspeeds arnt so curvy
dtheb - the earlier Panasports G7\'s are that style, the later ones aren\'t. I\'ve got the later ones (I think its that way round).
And yeah - they\'re pretty heavy for a split rim, although tyres make a HUGE difference. Mine are 16\'s had chunky eagle F1\'s on and weigh loads, but there\'s a lot to be saved with low-profile lighter tyres.

Cheaper than the works? 16" G7\'s seem to go fairly cheap, but they also ALL seem to be dented. 17\'s can be picked up reasonably, depending on offset. Mine are 8.5J, no idea on offset though, probably about ET30. There\'s no price diff between early and late ones that I know of.
I\'ve got 2 straight ones, 2 bent ones, need to get the bent ones straightened, then I\'ll run a mixture of those and banded steels on it.

The wheels i got from blitzboy last year. Not sure on the make but are pretty old. I saw the same wheels on another car a while back and they still had the sticker on the cap but i cant for the life of me remember what it was!

I agree White is one of the best colours, but I also like the black and gunmetal. I\'ll admit I\'m not a massive fan on the red, not that I have anything against the red ones, I almost brought one but I\'m sure you know what I mean.

I must say i like the black and gun metal grey too but if i had the chance for a respray (not that this car would ever get it) id struggle to decide on a colour, even if i stuck to white ive seen some gorgeous whites like the lexus lfa or some bmw 4x4 i saw the other day made me think my car would look decent in that glossy white, luckily or perhaps not i dont have to decide! :rolleyes:
The wheels look like early 90\'s Skyline wheels but im not sure. They are similer pattern to the stock ones only with bigger gaps to the spokes. I guess thats why I like them as I like stock ish looking cars over kitted out ones most of the time.
I recognise the wheels, think they\'re cheap 90\'s stuff, very much like TSW hockenheims. If they were slightly wider and concave they\'d look better - M3 CSL style.

Yep, I printed a spec sheet and details of the rx and also put in it saying "For Sale £3250 OVNO" As I am always willing to sell it for a good price but I would like to keep it.
It was funny because most people didn\'t know what it was, one man said "Is it a Lotus"

John, I am LIKING the white dials, red carpets and whatever seats those are! Better than the retrimmed leatherette things you had in there when you bought it. What are they?
Ladies and gents, the wheels in my LATEST photo are Dodge Calibre steels, standard spec 17" 6.5J ET38. My fronts are 9J ET6 with 205/40\'s, and my rears are 9.5J ET0 with 225/45\'s on. I want to be quite clear and state that the rear arches need a LOT of rolling and pulling to fit the wheels, and the front either needs pulling (IMPOSSIBLE to do neatly) or 20-30mm overfenders (which I plan on doing at some point, but standard look).
In the older photos the front wheels are Mitsubishi Starion Widebody rear wheels @ 8J Et-10 with 195/45/16\'s on. These wheels are what I rolled the front arches for in the first place. The rear wheels are the same though.

I really really like this which is strange because i\'m not usually keen on the 2 spoiler thing, could just be the angle. Like how the rear bumper extension thingy whatsthere names look. Might even consider getting some for mine, not sure how good they would look in grey though.

I\'ve done the 16"/17" stagger, I am reckoning a 18"/17" stagger, or 17" all round personally. To get the front low enough for 16" you\'re STUPIDLY low. As I said, been there done that!

RE:Amemiya i belive. It is very nice, but as with the brand its not cheap. Its a full kit with widearches too if you look carefully ;)
I thought it looked like the RE-A headlight kit, but it doesn\'t have the plastic facia cover that all the others do, can you run the RE-A lights without the plastic protector cover on then?? I would have thought you\'d need that to keep the water out?
I would have thought you could run them without, just get different lenzes for the lights and some sealant around the other parts. There is always a way to fill those gaps ;)
Other downside is that I guess with the shape of those headlights then they are more or less impossible to fit without having the RE-A front bumper alongside them, since the current bumper would have to be hacked to pieces in order to fit them. Are there any similar light kits that fit the OEM bumper if you cut the central part away between the FTP lenses and the top of it?
To be honest, i don\'t know. I love the look of papercutouts and would be happy to go with that look without the lenzes. If you go back a page and look at that silver one, thats got lenzes fitted to an oem bumber.
Must admit I do like papercutouts look and would be interested in doing something similar myself with possibly different lenses
I like the no lenzes look on his and am almost certainly going to copy when i either A. Get the courage to butcher front end or B. Find a trust worth bodyshop over here!

Does rebuilt mean tuned and ported? If not it = pointless. (Elford Turbo\'s aren\'t that expensive btw, seen a couple for well under £2K, and that\'s far less that that thing is to import)

doesn\'t need to be that big. Mop mount manifolds (or the ones that push the turbo forward tend to be more efficient or so they say. Apparently you ideally want the exhaust ports to be about 14 inches away from the turbo.

i had metal flakes when i had my one resprayed red.. was really nice but new paint reacted with old :(

Its actually not a cooling panel like we\'re used to see, this is just a cover to make a nice finish..
There is a huge tunnel underneath for the v-mount which directs the air, no air is getting under the panel or even inside the engine bay itself

After nearly 12 months of "relaxed" restoration the 2nd lady in my life is now freshly MOT'd and back on the road. I've owned the car for nearly 25 years so the money and time spent is well deserved - in my opinion anyway :).
I've tried to keep the car as original as possible including a respray in its original sapphire blue. Ebay proved to be a good source of parts, particularly cosmetic items including a rare rear parcel shelf which was in excellent condition. Just a few things to sort out still, including the wipers which are not fully functional and the drivers window which goes down easily but struggles to go up (must be old age!). The only non-working item which is probably going to stay that way is the rear window wash/wipe.
Nice to be back behind the wheel having driven an automatic for the last year. Once I'd remembered how to change gear I realised how much fun the car is to drive and how well it handles. Engine is revving smoothly with no hesitation at the 4200 rpm mark and just keeps on going - which is how it should be :).
Great to see the hard work that has gone into your pride and joy, so so rare to see an EGI in this condition.

Yes, I am very happy with it and it's ever so nice to be driving what is an increasingly rare car these days. I have only ever seen one other RX7 around here, and that was a FB a couple of years back.

Very nice job and very rare....prob 20 plus years ago i had an xr2 and the lad my age had a black FC like yours i got an insurance quote and was 3 months salary....i was uber jealous!...he and the car did a no show at work 1 day and heard he'd wrapped it around a lampost!

boosted...fortunately when I was in my late teens/early twenties insurance for sports cars was relatively affordable - hence in those days I had a Lancia Beta 2000 Coupe! Wish I'd kept it now - when I sold it some years later it was still largely rust free with the chassis still connected to the body :).
