Title: bodykit , where to get fitted.?
Post by: funkybiznes on January 02, 2009, 11:28:21 PM
HELP ! HELP !

Hey guys,

recently got my second FD, with the first i did not modify whatsoever as i was pretty young and couldnt afford to bump up the premium. However i am a little wiser older and have a bit more silver in my pockets now and i plan to bring her up to date on the bodystyling front.

This however is not my strong point as im not sure where the reliable places lurk about. Im 99% sure im going to but the Burnout Kit ( which is no problem) as i can happily fit wings and bumper which is good apart from one tiny bit, the rear arch add-ons would be out of my expertise range and have no idea where to start.

I imagine they need to be blended in ??? ( how much? ) and then sprayed. The car is jet black . would this work require the car to have a full respray or can it be blended in with little effort by a decent paint shop?

Guys i need your help with this before i ask the wrong place and get taken for a ride by some wheeler dealer after a quick buck.

If it was engine stuff id be happy, but body work im well out of my depth and dont want to get stung for silly money when the job could be done for a reasonable amount elsewhere.

help!!

regards

bren

i know a few guys in birmingham that have done this kind of work, they can also supply the burnout kit too...expect to pay 2-2.5k to fit and full paint..rear aches really need to be cut out to give you wheel clearance..you really need to paint the whole car..thanks

We could fit it for you. We can come and pick the car up in the trailer, the kit will be fitted and painted and then we will drop it back in the trailer.

We fit our own panels that we produce in Carbon, and I\'m sure that anyone that has seen them is impressed!  Batman saw the rear arch conversion we have done, so he can vouch for the quality of work!

Drop us an email or give us a ring to chat further.

Sounds good,

If all goes well with my FD, and the engine problems are sorted i should take delivery in the next couple of weeks, Kit arrives tomorrow( tracking number just been emailed :))

Im not going to stay black mate so you have no need to worry, was going to stick to black but wifey likes the blue off the focus rs. Its still dark but more of a high gloss candy colour.

Just pricing up paint.

Then again im in no rush, im not going to get the paint and body done until im happy with her engine and have all the parts for her. Im determined not to spend more than 6k on her but we know thats going to go out the window . Gonna have to get my ass shot off again to pay for it :Laugh.

Best book me another holiday in the sunny desert.

if its a copy kit then fitting the bumpers and wings may well be boyond you aswell.
unless its shine auto stuff or simmilar, most copy kits fit real bad in my experience.

but as you can see plenty people on here that will fit it,

automicrex, door to door service! sounds good

Agree on the poor fitting kits especially if they are from the USA.  Jap spec ones are better but you certainly get what you pay for these days.
