You can start it and drive straight away, just keep the revs lower than 3k til warm. More oil is circulated by gentle driving than letting it stand.

Give it at least a couple of minutes after the temp gauge reads normal temp as the oil and water temps are still not at proper operating levels yet. ;)

i\'ll normally let mine run for about a min, i\'ll then keep the rev\'s <2000 rpm if i can till it\'s warm.

i usually try and drive a good few miles at low revs before thrashing it !

at the end of the day i rather drive slowly for a bit than spend 3K on a new engine ( remember the oil advert .. OWWW WWWWW WWWWWW WWWWWW WWWWWWWW WWWWWWW when he revs it from cold )

and dont use the temp gauge as an indication - as water heats up quicker than oil

i usually wait until it reaches normal operating temp ( water ) and then do a few miles ( mins ) more to make sure

and duff - are you gonna come to the north west meet ( bank holiday monday ) ?

well its a japuk meet ( i think ! )

so there is usually about 30 cars there ( ish )

but as far as rx7\'s go ....

eerrrrr there can be anything up to about 8

so the more the merrier really

the only thing i have never seen there is an 8 and a 1st gen

there is usually 1 or 2 2nd Gens and the rest 3rd

its not a bad night usually - probably better now the weather is getting nice ( and the clocks have changed )

hope to see you there then !

Sorry, I don\'t make much sense when I\'m tired (Michelin/Avon/Dunlop, etc):wave
