Title: Need Help - strange buzzing noise?
Post by: ash on December 31, 2008, 04:10:39 PM
:chatI am having difficulties starting the FD.

I thought it was the plugs, battery but have changed these and still have the issue.

Recently though when i try to start, after failing there is a loud buzzing noise coming from just beneath the UIM. It looks like the ISC (Idle Speed Control) valve solenoid, it makes this noise when the ignition is left on.

Could this be the reason for starting problems?

Also, my idle seems high at 1100-1200rp when warm, and then if I go for a drive the idle decides to sit around 1500-1900rpm and it gets a bit embarrasing.

Could this be the reason or my difficult starting all the time, hot or cold. Yes, i need to get the compression checked too!

Could it be 1 of the solenoids? It sounds like the rev buzzer lol

I think it must be a solenoid, like its sticking. Can someone clarify what solenoid this is please? Im thinking the ISC but would this effect the starting system?
