I\'ve owner my FD for around a month now and am really enjoying it. It\'s a street port engine with a GT35R single turbo - I know these cars are pretty loud when tuned but this car is very loud on tick over. It has a WGT straight through exhaust with a tiger back box. I don\'t really like the look of the back box and wondered if it would make the car any quieter if I was to fit a silenced mid section and a HKS silent back box?? Also would I have to have the car re-mapped after this??

It\'s always best to have the map tweaked when you change things over but going to a more restrictive setup shouldn\'t be a big risk - it\'s still a risk though.
Finding the right balance between quiet (i.e. trackday friendly) and performance is a difficult one though but is very much dependant on what power you\'re going for.
Silenced mid-pipe will definately quieten it down :D

my cars loud all the time, on boost and off boost, my old twin i could drive in a way so it weren\'t too loud, but not in this one!
also my car has dyno print out for 420bhp at 1.1 bar when i went to by the car it had just had a wgt servce (wgt has always work on the car) i was told it was a winter service, boost turned down to 0.75 at the turbos and stock plugs!
is this common thing?
