Sorry!!, it\'s not cool and shocking to see the white Pole !! very dangerous and never seeing that\'s close to the arm/legs.
better to remove it and sent it back where\'s it from (in a Honda?)
Be safe or it\'s cost your arm and leg!
^^ its a dash dodger roll cage for a FD :s

WOOAH SLOW DOWN THERE BIG BUDDY!!!
it is a genuine cusco cage that i know have been tested for safety applications so it aint gonna be rippin me arms and legs off and i dont appreciate the sly tone in your comment, the cage is perfectly safe i.e. safety cage!!
check it out, miles away from any limbs, maybe you jus thought the pic was of a straight pole from the roof :xconfused:xconfused but in no way is it that
(http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/SNC12128.jpg)

dead easy!!:evillaugh
bit time consumin with filling sanding filling sanding etc etc,
first off i made mdf template of the speaker cover and chamfered the edges of it
(http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02202.jpg)
i then wrapped the road angel with loads of tape and then finally with a plastic bag and then covered it in some fibreglass so it looked like a weird egg thing lol
(http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02201.jpg)
i then removed the road angel (was easy with the use of the plastic bag around it) and bonded it to the mdf template with more fibreglass and then covered it in filler to the rough shape i wanted
(http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02203.jpg) (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02204.jpg)
then it was time to get the sanding fingers out and sand it back to the required shape, ended up with this
(http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02208.jpg) (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02209.jpg)
i then primered it and sprayed it with some paint my mate had which gives a crinkle finish, problem being is that it was pink lol:eek: its ace paint which covers minor imperfections so gives a good finish, think its called \'velvet touch\' or something, i then painted in matt black to give the final result,
(http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02211.jpg) (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/leeincivic/rx7%20pics/DSC02212.jpg)

Okay i\'m famous for bad comments.
I\'m used to a MSA\'s Regulation.
Most japanese goods saying "safety cage" but how safe??
to me, looking at your pic;s Woooo, no safe!
ere\'s qoute from MSA\'s 2009
Page2 Common Regulations for Competitors: Safety
General Specifications
4. Safety cages must be designed and made so that,
when correctly installed, they substantially reduce the
risk of injury to the occupants. The essential features of
an efficient safety cage are that it is designed to suit
the particular vehicle, is of sound construction, has
adequate mountings and is a close fit to the BODYSHELL
It\'s better to be on the safe side.
that cage fits that description
Quote from: leeincivic;569063dead easy!!:evillaugh
oh yeah and shaunwil heres a pic of the spa gauge, what a nightmare it was to get wiring through the door harness but glad i did it and got rid of eye sore gauges that were plonked on the dash:)
I bet, the plugs are huge and the holes in the door a complete nightmare !
Shaun
Quote from: karl_tate;569095that cage fits that description
That\'s what I thought LOL

Yeah ya right there, I had to carefully cut the wires and re-solder and shrink wrap them back together, \'Twas scary coz the wires were uber thin
yeah the cage defo fits that description, but i think if it was in more technical terms it would go on forever and sort of mean, that it needs to go down through the dash following the curve of the a-post and front door supports!
but this car is not a track car so dose not need to be fia approved, and that cage is still giving extra protection, than what a stock bodied car would be!

http://www.paintsprays.co.uk/catalog/velvet-touch-paints-p-209.html
hope this helps mate
btw the way whats karl_tate mean by the gias\'s??? or am i jus bein dumb lol
Quote from: karl_tate;569565not the gias\'s dude
Yarp! :D
They\'re \'only\' sports, so just have a plain black FRP shell, not the kevlar weave :) They are a bit scracthed on the back so really need redoing.
I fancy a chaste white crackle version of the finish Lee has done, I reckon it would look ace! :D Either that or a dark maroon.
Cheers Lee :) the \'Gias\'s\' are my seats :Thumbsup!
ok cool, sounds like a plan,
keep us updated.
word of warning! i took my car out for the first time since i did this and noticed when the sun shone on it i could see a hint of pink on one corner!!! well annoying!! haha
back to halfrauds for some more matt black paint :D
