Its pretty much stock engine wise, but a bugger to start when warm so a rebuild is on the cards, which is a good thing as ive found an annoying blow on the exhaust manifold. Im gonna bin the vanquish front bumper as im on the look out for a 99spec front or a mazdaspeed item.

The rear needs lowering and ive gotta a couple of mates who work in a bodyshop so can get the paint touched up in areas.

All in all it drove home from laeeq\'s place without a hitch and the tunnel on the M25 was fun on the way back:Laugh

Im in no rush to get it all sorted as hopefully driving it to le mans next year!.

Would be nice to meet other rotary owners in and around dunstable and that.

Regards

Matt

Oh yeah!.....just looking through loads of old threads at the moment.

Doing the porting will be easy enough to carryout as alot of stuff is done in house or down the road at Cosworth.

Its just deciding on what sort of port and how big to go with it really, trying hard to find pics of each and the pro\'s and cons

Cheers

well on twins and a road car i would recommend a large streetport, thats what i had on mine when it had twins and worked perfectly, you dont want to go too big on stock twins as you will start getting problems with boost creep and then you would need to look into wastegate porting and stuff like that

Hi Matt, nice looking FD you have there.

I think we must have got our FD\'s about the same sort of time early December? Good luck with the rebuild, whos doing it locally then as Im in Watford and dont know of any rotary specialists within 20 odd miles?

Hi mate,

Looks like it:) i picked mine on the 14th, was wet and miserable but the drive home was great!. Hmmmm 20 miles?, im sure Jaydee is within that im sure he is only east london way, laeeq said about him and he does all the stuff for the whiffbitz rx7 to.

Im using jamie going in Northampton, he has been working on most of my cars over the past 5 years. Ive been helping him out in building up his Mk 3 Escort that should crack the 200mph barrier:eek

So he has said that if i supply the parts for the rebuild it wont cost me anything labour wise to sort, plus get to use the workshop where its nice and warm:Giggle

Going to go for a different engine managemnet to the norm also as its had cracking results on various cars that its been installed on. Will probably do a thread once its all done and chuck in a load of pics about the mapping process.

Its gonna be a long process but been after one for years so im not really in any rush to get it done, just cant wait to get stuck in now.

Regards

Matt
