What Injector cleaner would you recommend for the FD, I see on the rx7club.com the guys in the states are using \'Seafoam\' with great results etc whats our UK Equivalent?
ATF Trick, Water Flush or Seafoam equivalent injector cleaner!
Thank you
I use Redex injector cleaner, the problem with a rotary having secondary injectors, to clean those I need to be on boost...shame :D
Lots of those things are placebo\'s tbh. There\'s only one way to get injectors proeprly cleaned, and that\'s to take them out and send them somewhere like Scholar engines. That\'s where mine are going. It\'s about a tenner each or something - that\'s naff all to pay for peace of mind imho.
I agree, that would be the best option!
What i would like to know is what would be best for freeing a sticking seal, de-carbonising the Rotors etc
In the states there plumbing \'1 gal Distilled water\' to a plenum vacuum line, running the engine at 3k+ till it sucks all the water through the rotors to remove harmful deposits  .
Plenty of steam from the exhaust etc, just wondered if anyone over here has done it with results?
Many thanks
P.s im running a mild premix too now
If you use v-power or optimax these fuel already have cleaning agents in. I doubt that adding more will do anything.
Thats true, i guess what i really want to know is, has anyone done the water flush or ATF Fluid trick to free a sticking seal?

interesting reading. Don\'t think i\'ll bother!!
The water trick doesn\'t seem to kill the engine, but i\'m not sure it does what it says on the tin?
Very interesting read, so the general rule would be to use ATF for a flooded engine if needed and to not leave it overnight?
Many thanks
Have you any information on the water flush treatment?
Sure they sometimes do that water thing on that program on sky. Cant remember what its called (no not pimp my ride :Santa) Its like American chopper but the cars instead!
Don\'t have sky :(
Overhauling?
Yeah thats the one! I only seen 2 episodes cause I dont have sky and was round my mates house. He said he\'s seen it done with a hose pipe :rollin

seafoam in the intake lol
Crazy Yanks "Is that water?".
Is that stuff actually any good? Every car i\'ve seen it used on, just seems to blow steam out the exhaust like someone plumbed the coolant line into the cat :yes
I would at least use distilled water i think :rollin
i tried the ATF trick - make sure you have friendly neighbours as it creates HELL of a lot of smoke - i filled the street :D
I would imagine its similar to a blown turbo \'007 style smoke screen lol\'
Did you have much result?
errrr not really - i think the engine was shot to be honest
i thought i just had a stuck seal - so it was worth a try
it didnt help on mine - it still started and ran just really really really rough - i thing it has more internal damage than just a stuck seal - and it was down on compression anyways
I had a somewhat similar conversation with Pip last week whilst at WGT. Was asking about oil type to use and he told me his reasons for recommending mineral (going in next change) and I asked what can be done to get rid of deposits.
He said that running mineral will help but to do it quickly:
1) Remove spark plugs
2) Squirt in Redex cleaner
3) Turn over engine with EGI removed to smear it round
4) Leave for a few hours
5) Return, start up car, stand back, enjoy smokescreen
:D :D :D
