On the way home from work tonight and stopped at a roundabout. Went to pull away and saw another car with right of way so I stopped again. It\'s a shame that the sweet old dear behind me didn\'t...
Now have a small crack and a couple of minor dents in the rear bumper. Hopefully her insurance will cover it, but does anyone know if I still get stung for excess or not (£250 quid if so...).
Just got back to work today after a week off with some horrible virus thingy, so not the best thing to come back to. :(
Chris.
No, if her insurance pays out you pay nothing mate ;) or that\'s how it\'s suposed to work anyway!
Jono
Your excess is recovered from the fault party, and given that she hit you from behind it\'s her.
If the damage isnt too bad it may be worth settling outside insurance, as any accident, fault or not will probably increase your premiums... :(
If she takes liability i think you can get it sorted without using you insurance so you won\'t have to claim on yours. Or alternatively use your motor legal protection to get money on her insurance. Tho a friend of mine recently had a problem similar and withdraw a claim on the insurance but they still took his NCB.
It\'s with AON on a classic policy, so no NCB involved. Will be really ****ed off if it puts my premium up though :reallymad
I\'ll get it looked at then we can decide whether to pursue it through the insurers or settle outside.
Cheers,
Chris.
there is company\'s that work out side your insurance company and they dont even have to know. all it claimed from her insurance.
Sorry to hear this, Chris. I did notice there seem to be rather too many annoying mini roundabouts round your way! You shouldnt loose your NCB or have to pay a penny. She\'s 100% at fault, and her insurers will have to pay out in full, simple as that. Don\'t accept anything less if your lot try to tell you different!
Sorry to hear this bud, same thing happened to me about 2 months ago. When to see a solicitor dealing with car claims, she dealt with everything, sorting out the repair (which i get back tomorrow!) and even with the injury claim. My insurance have been contacted but are no way involved so my NCB will not be effected.
Spoke to the insurers today as well as the old dear. She wants to proceed outside the insurance at the moment, and AON are happy with that. I\'m going to get a couple of quotes to get it fixed and then we\'ll see from there. I\'ve spoken to a main dealer in Basingstoke so far, need to get one more. I\'ll be popping into Carl\'s for a service next week so I\'ll get some advice then.
Cheers,
Chris.
