Well, me and Mr Hendrix attempted to stick some new springs on my Rx7 yesterday.. We made a start on the front right spring around 2pm.. after some tugging and some good old WD40 we managed to get the front strut right out.. had some issues with the annoying break fluid pipe thing but luckly that little nipper is bendy! The old spring was a bit worst for wear to be honest and the whole part needed a good clean down with a metal brush.. prefferably i would have liked to have cleaned it right down and re paint it but it wasn\'t going to happen. Whacked the new spring on in its bright red glory and re fitted it all.. Great.. so 3 hours later (haha no joke) we made a start on the right back. Got it jacked and the strut off in about 15mins.. easy peezy.. then we hit a brick wall.. the top bolt just would NOT come off.. we honestly tried until about 9.30pm (after some dinner) to get this bloody bolt off. We failed.. :( Ended up taking it a friends house who knows a mechanic.. he took it into work with him today and i\'m happy to say he managed to get it off yey!! As long as James can make it over tomorrow we will resume work and hopefully at least get the back one fitted and complete.
On a side note, i\'m quite lucky i have decided to change the springs as to our shock (get it?) the rear original spring had completely snapped in half..which surely can\'t be a good thing??
Anyways.. i\'m sure i have bored you enough with this.. here are some awesome pictures i took throughout the day. Enjoy!

Nice one lads. Now you\'ve done it I bet you could do it in half the time, right? Looks like you\'ve had a laugh anyhoo. Keep the pic\'s coming when the job is finnished.
oohh i spy braided brake lines :D
nice nice =)
good its goin well(ish) so far =)
so let me get this straight.. your driving on 3 stock springs atm and one lowered spring?
i jus find that funny lol =)
Thanks guys!
BBCFC - No dude, the RX7 is not my daily driver luckily enough haha.. It stays in the garage until its nice outside. :)
i hope you have a before and after shots of the car so that we can see how the ride height has changed :D
The first picture is how it looked before we put on the springs.. it was quite low to begin with to be honest.. Once we put the new spring on it didn\'t look any lower though to be honest.. but i think this might be because the rest of the car would be keeping the height up. Once they are all done and ive gave the car a few days to settle i\'ll take some pics of the finished result. I\'m not too bothered if it doesn\'t look much lower as it needed new springs anyways..
Im glad my flowery shoes have been heavily featured in most shots Gianni! Proper little David Baily you are! Lol!
I\'ll try to get back out to you and finish it all off as soon as i can mate. Last thing i want to do is leave you with your ass hanging in the breeze!
BTW, third pic from the end? Bwaaa ha ha ha! Classic. STRUT MEMBER!
Ha ha Strut member indeed! Get on MSN you big girl.. I should probably be painting my caliper while i wait on you!
