Bought an FC a while back which I wanted to use to drift but its developed an engineproblem and I dont know what it is an since ive just started teaching and im snowed under with paperwork and i cant be bothered to sort it...and im running out of space fast...and tbh i want out of rotaries in this economic climate...DC2 Integra Type R FTW!!!
the car stands me at 2750 and I cant honestly see me getting my money back for an FC TII which has an engine problem!! Having said that, if someone were to offer me 2750 for it, I would take it, but you have to bear in mind is an FC with an engine problem that might or might not need a rebuild. So im tempted to break it as it has a lot of nice go faster shiney bits... which are... (ive put prices in brackets as id like some feedback as to whether they are appropriate for an FC owner to pay...i dont know what FC parts are worth....FDs yes! FCs no!!!!)

I think it would be easier to get my money back from breaking it rather than selling...i dont particularly want to make any more than i paid sooo....what im asking you guys is:
Would it be easier to get my money back breaking it? or would it be easier to hold out to sell the car as is to some drifter? (i realise i advised Brian Ellis not to break his FC a while back although im not looking to make back quite as much as him and from my calculations, i wouldnt have to charge as much for bits either)...
Id like to stress i havent decided yet..although id love to hear some feedback as to whether its easier to break or sell? Has any one sold an FC of late?

Dont think many people are looking to buy cars at christmas time, notoriously the winter and christmas is the worst time to sell a car. But try it anyway.

As said via email deffo interested in the Apexi PFC. Breaking a car is a hard decision to make, but like you have said it seems the easiest way to get your money back. I\'d be interested in the FM intercooler/piping also if we could cut a deal.

and to be brutally honest - i cant see you getting that ££££ for the car if it has probs ( unless of course its in MINT condition ) - sorry :(
and your prices - for a FC owner they look OK and you should shift most of it no probs !
and youve not taken into consideration they few hundred you MIGHT make from selling all the small bits like discs ( are they stock ?? ) , bits of trim etc..
might be worth you putting a price up for the rear speaker covers and parcel shelf if you have them - people are sometimes looking for them

Not sure i could bear to actually break my car if i was in that position, i think you would get the money back though, then again the downside is, would you have enough of that other precious commodity Time? for the hassle!

well i might be interested in the engine and also 2nd dibs on intercooler and piping. I also think your carbon bonnet is got to be worth £300 unless its a bit ropey also if the stainless exhaust is from turbo back then its worth double.
Also the Apexi is worth £600 of anyones money, they are not available for the FC anymore and cost £600 to buy from Japan without shipping.

Pete with the greatest respect mate they don\'t, They are usually the equivalent of £250-350 in Japan second hand. The only time you see them for £600-700 is on stupid ebay.

why thank you! Its a lot of work and jumping thru hoops at the moment...quite rewarding as well though and no 2 days are ever the same and it provides me with much amusement during the day!
I havent got the time to repair the FC and even if I did, i dont think i could afford to run a rotormotor atm....FCs arent normally my cup of tea but this was rather an impulse buy!
Id snap your hand off forn the clutch and quite possibly the roll cage!

having said that, ive had next to no interest in the car as it is and lets face it...why would anyone..when for 800 quid more they could have brians rebuilt fc with much the same spec!

Right ok guys..managed to have a look over the car today...had forgotten just how ropey some of the paintwork was!
Car also has a few extra bits that i never noticed till now! Those being:

Turbo looks like a t04e..ill know more tomoro when i remove it.

added a few pics of the engine bay today to that photobucket link (http://s283.photobucket.com/albums/kk292/jamesfd3s/) ....intercooler piping is somewhat agricultural...although its good to use as a template to make proper piping! i think a lot of it is neccesarry to get around certain areas of the engine bay.

yeah i would but it would be at your risk as its pretty damn flimsy...i dont mind wrapping it up heavily in cardboard but dont blame me if it arrives in more than one piece..
im gonna put up a full list later on this eveing with all the parts that are there and all the prices and also who has dibs on what as many people have contacted me by email or by phone (if they have my number from somewhere else) so its not clear whos in line for what at the moment..
also remembered it has front and rear strut braces (possibly cusco ones) and also a c pillar brace as well. Theres a cusco brake master cylinder stopper as well and an ORC braided clutch line.
did the previous owner drive through a Jap Halfords or something :)
probabl not too far off...the bodywork is so ropey he must have scraped the whole car down the shelves as well as nabbing all the bits...

I used to have one and it turned out to just be annoying rather than useful.

Yeah it\'ll be louder than mine as its a single, but you can always put a bung in it to quieten it a little.
I am also after the side indicator units on the wings (Jap) dont mind the whole unit nut only after the two lenses.
Need some more info on the engine, obviously buying it on the intention that its blown and needs a rebuild, mileage, ever been rebuilt, problems??

gurj...you have absolutely no idea how shockingly bad the bodywork is! it 100% definitely needs a respray...as well as a lot of prep work...loads of little niggles everywhre....quality of the paint work was terrible! coupled with the fact it had already been resprayed to black from white...not a fantastic prospect for anyone really...

c pillar brace braces the point between where the 2 boot struts mount to the car..it braces the drivers side to the pass side.

Ive had some family issues ive had to sort out this week so apologies for lack of contact and postage delays. As a result of this, i havent been able to do anything with the car.

The following bits have no dibs on them as yet and as a result, i want to make people aware of them. Does the car have a dual alternator pulley too? If it does I\'ll have that off you too.

Just want pics on the cooler and rad to make sure they are all as I want.

Jit - Do you have the rear speaker grills? As far as i can make out the only thing stopping the parcel shelf from fitting is that i don\'t have the little clips on my speaker grills that the TII does have.. and obviously the hanging arms (but i\'m sure i can sort something out).

cant sort anything out yet as ive got other priorities to deal with first. Will update the thread shortly.
OK, Have standard suspension to swap if you need to keep it rolling.
Still need the intercooler, any idea on times. I can remove the items myself if you wish if that helps. Its just that I may have a few deliveries and pickup down that neck of the woods so nice to tie it all together.
And i\'m still looking for the headlight switch and indy stalk. No huge rush for it but if your going to work on the car geting Petes intercooler out it will take all of 5 mins to remove the stuff i need as well :Thumbsup!

REALLY want these coilovers, money waiting and stock suspension available to swap on.
Come on JIT mate show us a sign you are still in this World. Is there any chance that you might trust someone to take the bits of for you....... ie Me. I want the intercooler and stuff and would be more than happy to paypal you the funds and remove it myself. Might be a way of getting funds to you and save you the hassle in the process.
guys i have farrrrr too much on at the moment....tbh i dont have an issue trusting anyone to take parts off. but its not stored on my land so the owner of the land will take exception. My teaching schedule this week is grim...wed, thurs and friday i have a job interview. mondays the same so weekend will be spent preparing!!!

its not so bad once you been qualified for 3 years and you have all the lesson plans drawn up in a folder ready to churn out... im at the stage when i have to write the damn things up for future ref and its long!

I was waiting on you to let me kow about the air temp sensor! all i know is, i have an fd air temp sensor which was used as it had an fd plenum.
