I still lurk about on this forum from time to time, I still have my tt supra but im tempted to buy a rex for next years project. Is there a decent thread detailing a full engine build, and possibly a single turbo build and what sort of costs are typical for a single turbo engine (for street use) with myself doing all the work, except for the mapping.
Thanks for any advice :) I did use the search button btw before anyone shoots me down
Looking around it also sounds to be around £1k to rebuild the engine in stock form...that correct?
Standard rebuild from a repitable company is £3000+ depending if they have to change any housing or plates.

depends how far you\'re going to go with the rebuild (guessing you\'re doing it yourself!)...
i\'m nowhere near competent enough a mechanic to do it, but the parts on my WGT reciept came to £1500 including housings and all gaskets/seals. double that up for the labour costs.
depending on how good nick the engine is i guess budget for £2000 to include any repairs and upgrades to turbos, radiator, ic e.t.c.
when you start thinking about things like new rotors, new ecc. shaft then you\'re into big money.
thanks for the replies. What are the gearboxes like on these in terms of taking more than stock power, and i\'d really like a ball park figure on a single turbo build and also a turbo to recomend too. I\'ve noticed quite allot of rex\'s with t78\'s on them, but is this not a big old laggy turbo?
13b Rotaries have very aggressive exhaust pulse when compared to a piston engine and with correct porting can spin big turbos. Hence the popularity of big turbos.
