Title: 99spec twins vs Knighsports
Post by: CharlieP on November 30, 2008, 02:46:20 PM
Hi all...I\'ve heard great things about the KS turbos.
I like twins :mmmm (lol) so was wondering how the 99spec twins (alread on my car) compare with the KS turbos?

1. Are the KSs better made, such as roller bearing, and less likely to fail causing bigger engine problems?

2. Would it be better just \'porting\' the 99specs?

I\'m not after a huge increase in power, but I\'m guessing KS would have more future potentia?

Thanks

as far as I\'m aware the KS ones would be better as the inturnals can take 1.4 bar where as the 99 spec have a better flow rate than the pre 99 ones, but are still brakable around the 1 bar......

The KS ones will flow over 400hp. Internal journals are larger and reinforced. Larger diameter comp wheel over the stock item. One issue, KS are now no longer doing the high flow twins. You\'d need to look for a 2nd hand pair.
