We popped up to a drift what you brung day today. I was just doing some instructing and helping out so managed to blag some goes in a couple of Rex\'s. Both had horrible standard diffs that were pretty much a waste of time but still good to get a feel for the cars now I\'ve got half a clue what I\'m doing.
The lack of low down torque on the standard car was massively obvious when using the standard lsd. You really have to give the car big beans to make it drift when you don\'y have a locking diff or welder and the car just didn\'t have enough torque low down to make it happen.
What really made my day was taking Cheryls mx5 out on the big track! it absolutely rocked. The handling is so good and it will get the back end around in times where my Skyline would understeer. The handling on the Rex is the same so its really given me confidence for driving the Rex\'s now :D
A couple of pictures of Mark in his Rex looking fine:

Awesome looking car, you going to be drifting an FD soon then?
Also wonder what you would make of the (1.5 way?) LSD that comes on some FD\'s like the type RZ?
Don\'t think they had a 1.5way option? The ratio is different I know that much. I\'ve got a 1.5way mazdaspeed lsd on my FD in an RZ ratio case. I\'m just rebuilding it at the moment. It worked well and there are people who drift on them. I prefer a 2 way though as they are much better IMO.
Myself and Mark are competing in FDs at BDC next year :D
nice photos... always good to hear what yer up to...
