Had my stock spoiler removed from my FD recently, and ever since, my boot lid has squeaked when i go over bumps... (think maybe the reduced weight is making it squeak more??)
Its driving me mad...
I can get it to quieten down, by rubbing some silicone lube on the rubber seal, but it never goes away completely and comes back full force within days...
So, before I rip the boot lid off and go medieval on its ass, anone got any ideas to shut it up once and for all?
try adjusting the catch and/or putting some electrical tape around the loop part.
I had the same for months, you have the two rubber supports either side (Between chassis and boot lid) that can be adjusted upwards, then adjust the catch hook as low as you can get it!
This forces the boot lid lower, (will be a pain in the arse to shut) onto the rubber supports and stopped my squeaking straight away :chat
I remember climbing in the boot for about (Well as close as humanly possible in the RX7) 10mins trying to source it :2Mad
thanks guys,will try that..
was thinking of fiddling with the catch to make it hold tighter, but as I\'ve gone bare-arsed, its already a pain to close the boot LOL
anything\'s better than the squeak...
Nothing more annoying than a random squeak ha ha
ive got this squeek as well! its f**kin horrible!
Turn up the stereo and put on any Prodigy album. You\'ll never be able to tell which random squeak is supposed to be there and which isnt! :Thumbs-up
