I\'ve just been looking about for parts incase any of mine are duff (will find out once the block is apart).
I\'ve come across "racing" apex seals, also Hurley Race Apex seals.
Curious as to what your thoughts are on these? Are they any better, stroner, longer lasting etc?
thanks
Also, what\'s the deal with 3mm seals? Any better, more durable?
What needs to be done (if anything) for them to be able to fit ?
I know that the 3mm seals dont fit straight in to the rotors, you have to get them machined out so they fit.
From what i\'ve heard and read, unless your going for BIG power or a high reving race engine then the normal 2mm Mazda seals are plenty good enough.
But others with more Knowledge than me will be able to tell you more

Anyone used Hurley racing seals?
I\'ve used them without issue and know of another local fd running big power on them without issue. Downside is seal\'s need clearancing individually as qc can be a bit erratic but if your doing your own rebuild this isn\'t so much of a problem as it is for garages where times money.

Unless you are running big power , I would stick to Mazda OEM, good things with Hurleys with what I seen they are soft so wont break off into bits and destroy your housings.
But Oem do work as seen on Dragons Drag car.
I run PTS seals which again suppossed to give really good compression and if I do det then the seals I supposs to bend again saving the housings but with ability I can bend the seals back and reuse.
SCR seals again suppossed to the same kind of deal
all down to budet pts seals are many dollar
Will also be looking at prices for a rebuild shortly and what to use! Keep me eye on this post!
you shouldnt have to clearence an apex tip seal Kev side seals yes.as long as the prep work is put in on the rotor any tip seal type ours or others will be fine
I run run Hurleys seals all round:- 2mm Racing Apex seals, matching triple springs corner seals and duplex side seals, and can\'t fault them
