Title: price for a rebuild??
Post by: drifter-x on March 30, 2004, 01:23:38 PM
hi all

Can some one give me some prices on a basic rebuild or upgrade
rebuild on a FD? I\'m still thinking about gettting an FD but
seems like everyone need some extra cash for this and my budget is pretty tight.

cheers all

looking around £2500-£3000 for a rebuilt afaik. It\'s kinda like how long\'s a peice of string, it often goes on what needs replaceing.

You could always pop over the the states and bring some new engines back ;D

I\'m in the states right now, where are these engines then.

And who else wants one if I can get 2 in my bag :D

You can\'t buy a new engine for FD\'s in the states.
They are all reconditioned ones that are done in the states.
Kind regards
Carl

tempting eh?   now where\'s that lottery ticket.

Some decent kit on that site... nice shiny pipes and replacement intercoolers :)  I\'ve just (virtually) spent GBP20k!

Tim from RX motors charges about £1800+VAT I think.

Carl Hayward is THE MAN for engines, bit more expensive but he knows all the tricks to make an engine last!

No I just have some inside information ;) :D

My engine is just peachy, just bought some of those new indicators off Jeff, car should look awesome!!!

I might still have it for rotorstock but who knows.

The \'special\' car is on order now and I cant wait to get it!

thanks for the replys, still thinking about whether i should be getting one, for a decent rx-7 after rebuild would end up around 8 to 9k but thats for ten years old car which i could choose other newer cars at this price, it is a quit hard decision and i still not sure whether i should get one yet but the style of the car is great and i like it small.

cheers all
