hi all,
is it possible for engine to go into limp mode if your oil is right down on dip stick ie: would the censor pick up you have not got enough oil and put it in limp mode

No I doubt that very much. As far as I know you can run the car dry before it will stop, it only has a light to warn you.

i\'m not sure at all about this reply, but wonder if there is a sensor sensing that the OMP is not getting enough oil. which would put the ecu into limp mode??
Good luck Bob

It may well put it into limp mode (I can always check if required)

The RX-8 has two different versions of limp mode as the oil level goes down, one cuts the revs and then the next sounds an audible alarm

That said I would say you would have nothing at all on the stick to make this happen.
