Right guys,
Rexy has been in the garage since end of June after failing MOT. I\'m booked in on the 6th to WGT to get her sorted. Just need to sort out a few niggly electrical bits.
I\'ve not ticked the engine over since then as the battery went flat after a few weeks.
Question is, apart from putting some new fuel in and charging her up, is there anything I should expect to be an issue in trying to wake her up? Don\'t think the engine would be flooded and i\'m hoping the starter/clutch/handbrake have\'nt seized... *fingers crossed*
Cheers

Sparks may be knackered?
T might be an idea to do oil/coolant change as been stood around,i know not long since oil was done better safe than sorry maybe.
when are you off up to scotland ?
battery, fluids & then wake the dead ;)
surely you dont need to take it to a specialist to get mot work done? are you made of money lol

Yep, best way. Mine sat for 2 months while I installed the Intercooler. Took a bit of cranking but fired up fine. If your really worried turn it over on the key with the throttle pedal fully down and turn over for about 10-15secs. The fuel pump shuts off at full throttle when your firing it up (easy way to deflood a slightly flooded engine). This will allow the oil pressure to get up quicker when fired up.

This looks like its going to be a good tread my RX has not been out now for about 2 months and looking at the weather its not going to be out for sometime so any advice will be good for long term storage.
to be honest guys... mine regularly doesn\'t move for a few months due to work & weather, just check the oil & water then turn the key....... mine has never complained or let me down to date!! it\'s only if you are leaving it for 5+ months that I would start to consider oil & coolant changes.

Thanks a lot for info guys!! :Thumbs-up :cheers
now just to get pesky earth problems sorted out this weekend!!

Just as a quick update.....after 4 months of no battery and no movement she woke up tonight!! Gave the (dead) battery a good charge and she started straight away!
Bit smoky for a few mins and she did have a good wee cough to herself but I\'m assuming that she\'s just clearing out her lungs...let her idle away for a few mins to get some vital fluids circulating and that was that. Looking forward to a good blast over to WGT a week on sat for MOT etc.
Next: see if she\'ll actually move!!! :O
PS, big thanks to Pete for the charger and a lift to get some fuel!!

Pleasure glad started ok T
Thats great news mate glad to hear she started fine. mine has not moved now for 2 months so it nice the see that the rex\'s can stand for sometime with no problems. :Thumbsup!
Did you change the oil and stuff or was it straight forward as charge the battery and crank her over????

took the battery out and properly charged it up - got to about 12.6V on the voltmeter before I put it back in...
checked the oil which was fine and fired her up!! Make sure your in neutral though!! :rollin
One other wee point though - i\'ve not actually moved her yet so I dunno if the brakes have seized up - so if its possible you might wanna take the handbrake off and chock the wheels instead...
