Its there to stop petrol fumes eating rubber in MAP sensor. Defo not a one way valve as this would cause the MAP sensor to stay in vacuum or boost position all the time depending which way round you had the valve.

Check the pipe isn\'t cracked or it has popped off the back of the plenum. Could be the sensor has gone bad. Have you got a PFC, can view vacuum levels on the commander !

Thanx for info Guys. Soz for ignorance but wots a PFC and plenum? Think my next step has to be getting it plugged into a diagnostic thingy see if compression right and that junk. My mechanic done the basics spark plugs out, ht lead test, checked for airleaks but still no closer to finding out why it wont idle just shudders and dies.

PFC is your ECU and the plenum is your inlet manifold.

On the mention of MAP sensors, how much PSI can the OEM MAP sensor read? I heard something about 17psi!!!
